Job Description:

The VP of Strategy and Planning will be responsible for helping to scale and mature the Fidelity Stock Transfer business which recently launched inside Fidelity Labs. They will balance strategic planning with execution of critical tasks and constantly be looking across the business to assess areas that will benefit from a more process-based approach while ensuring we maintain team dynamics that are high output and high agency. 

 

The VP of Strategy and Planning will: 

  • Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent complex concepts for consumption by broad audiences and to facilitate decision making by senior management. 

  • Measure how we are tracking towards goals and KPIs across the business. Work across Fidelity in tracking shared KPIs and identifying watch areas as soon as possible. 

  • Be a valued and trusted member of our leadership team 

  • Work closely with Finance to develop more sophisticated measurement of cross Fidelity impact of our business and ensure forecasts reflect latest assumptions and knowledge. 

  • Work with team to assess the financial opportunity of new opportunities or business lines. 

  • Manage and methodically optimize operating routines of the Fidelity Stock Transfer business including quarterly planning, all hands, operating review, investment committee materials, off sites etc. 

  • Support strategic planning and budgeting exercises. 

  • Develop business operations strategy and team. 

  • Actively engage in all business activities. Especially when clear ownership may not exist. 

 
THE EXPERTISE YOU HAVE 

  • Bias towards action. 

  • Expertise in analyzing data to drive decision making and discussion. 

  • Meticulous in detail and passionate about delivering high quality results. 

  • Relevant experience in financial services or financial technology is required. 

  • Background in finance/strategy functions is a positive. 

  • Previous startup experience is a positive.

  • You are a hands-on leader, an active listener, and are motivated by being part of successful teams with a positive and inclusive culture. 

  • You have experience delivering financial results and measuring outcomes in terms of unit economics/SaaS metrics. 

  • You have operational experience with the early development and/or assessment of new business opportunities 

  • You excel when given the opportunity to tackle large and ambiguous problems.

  • Establish and measure team priorities and success metrics to drive accountability across the team. 

  • Support continued evaluation of business strategy 

  • Support board, investment committee engagement strategy for continued funding and sponsorship 

  • Playing a critical role on the Fidelity Stock Transfer leadership team to continuously improve our operating model and to advance our business.
