We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven Vice President of Sales to join our growing team and help elevate our business to new heights. 

Position Overview: The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for driving the growth of the firm's client base by developing and implementing strategic sales plans. This role requires a proven leader with a strong track record of bringing in new business, cultivating relationships, and mentoring a high-performing sales team. As a "player-coach," you will be hands-on in selling and securing business while also leading and coaching the sales team to achieve ambitious targets. Additionally, you will play a critical role in building the sales process and infrastructure, ensuring the sales operations are streamlined, efficient, and scalable. You will also work closely with marketing to ensure alignment between sales and marketing efforts, driving a unified strategy to attract and retain clients. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Business Development: 

  • Bring a book of business to the firm, leveraging your existing network and industry relationships to generate new client opportunities. 
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets. 
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with company objectives and ensure business growth. 
  • Lead complex negotiations with key prospects, focusing on securing long-term partnerships. 

Sales Leadership: 

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a sales team to meet and exceed sales targets. 
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture by setting clear expectations, providing continuous support, and holding team members accountable. 
  • Develop and deliver sales training and professional development programs for the sales team. 
  • Monitor performance metrics, providing regular feedback and guidance to ensure individual and team success. 

Sales Process and Infrastructure Development: 

  • Design, implement, and continuously optimize the sales process, ensuring a seamless and efficient journey from lead generation to closing. 
  • Build and scale the sales infrastructure, including CRM systems, reporting tools, and data analysis processes, to enhance productivity and drive results. 
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales benchmarks to measure team success and sales effectiveness. 

Collaboration with Marketing: 

  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment between sales and marketing strategies, creating a unified approach to client acquisition and retention. 
  • Collaborate on the development of targeted marketing campaigns, materials, and content that resonate with potential clients and support the sales process. 
  • Leverage marketing insights, market research, and lead generation tools to identify new business opportunities. 
  • Ensure seamless communication between the sales and marketing teams to track and report on the effectiveness of sales initiatives. 

Relationship Management: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target industries, including CFOs, CEOs, and other senior executives. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Develop strategies for net new client acquisition and expansion by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities. 

Market Insight and Strategy: 

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to inform strategic sales initiatives. 
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve sales strategies and processes. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales efforts with company goals and objectives. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven track record of success in sales and  leadership, ideally in the accounting or professional services sector. 
  • Strong network and established book of business within the target market. 
  • Ability to both lead and execute; hands-on experience in securing new business and closing deals. 
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing effective sales processes and building sales infrastructure. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. 
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics. 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. 
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with marketing and other teams. 
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
