About Us

CipherHealth is an award winning software company committed to enhancing care coordination and outcomes across the continuum. Since 2009, CipherHealth’s automated, scalable platform has empowered healthcare organizations to engage patients and care teams at every touchpoint, streamlining workflows and improving experiences. With tailored communication solutions powered by AI and deep integrations, CipherHealth drives better clinical results, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability, transforming healthcare one interaction at a time.

About the Role

We're looking for a Vice President of Product Management to lead our product organization and set the strategy, vision, and roadmap for our portfolio. You will own product outcomes end to end, from discovery and definition through delivery and iteration, while partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to bring products to market that customers love and that drive measurable business results.

What makes this role different is how we do product management? You will build, operate, and coach a product organization where AI agents handle much of the analytical and synthesis heavy-lifting, freeing our team to focus on customer empathy, strategic judgment, and cross-functional alignment. The ideal candidate pairs deep, traditional product management craft with an agentic mindset: someone who thinks about product management as a system of humans and agents working in a loop, and who is as comfortable running a quarterly roadmap review as designing an agent workflow.

Core Product Management Responsibilities
  • Set product vision and strategy. Define a compelling, differentiated product vision and translate it into a clear, prioritized multi-quarter strategy aligned to company goals.
  • Own the roadmap. Build and maintain roadmaps grounded in customer needs, market opportunity, and business value; communicate them clearly to stakeholders and executives.
  • Drive discovery and validation. Champion continuous customer discovery, user research, and data-informed decision-making to identify the right problems to solve.
  • Define requirements. Author and oversee crisp PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria; ensure a well-groomed, prioritized backlog.
  • Lead go-to-market. Partner with Marketing, Sales, and CS on positioning, pricing, packaging, launch, and adoption.
  • Measure and iterate. Define success metrics and OKRs, instrument products, and use quantitative and qualitative signals to guide the roadmap.
  • Manage the product lifecycle. Balance new bets, growth initiatives, technical investment, and maintenance across the portfolio.
  • Build and lead the team. Hire, mentor, and grow product managers; establish a healthy, high-performing product culture and craft.
What You'll Own1. Build and Operate the Agentic PM Loop

You will stand up and continuously improve a fleet of product-analyst agents that augment the entire product team. These agents should be able to:

  • Summarize support tickets into digestible themes and severity signals
  • Cluster feature requests across channels to surface demand patterns
  • Watch competitors and flag meaningful moves, launches, and positioning shifts
  • Analyze churn to explain why customers leave, not just how many
  • Identify customer pain themes from unstructured feedback across sources
  • Summarize sales calls and Gong calls into structured insights and objections
  • Monitor usage analytics to detect adoption, friction, and drop-off signals
  • Generate weekly opportunity reports that synthesize the above into prioritized bets
  • Draft first-pass PRDs so humans start from a strong draft rather than a blank page

You own the quality, reliability, and evolution of this "Product Analyst" agent layer. You treat it as a product in its own right, defining requirements, measuring accuracy and adoption, and iterating on the leverage it creates for the team. The agentic loop doesn't replace product craft; it accelerates discovery, sharpens prioritization, and gives your PMs more time for strategy and customers.

2. Run the Product Council System

Product decisions at our company happen through Product Councils, and you are the steward of this operating model.

  • Each product has a recurring Product Council that runs Epic and Sprint planning for its area.
  • Each council produces a roadmap for its area, grounded in customer discovery, business value, and the outputs of the agentic PM loop.
  • You ensure councils are well-run, cross-functional, decisions are evidence-based, and priorities ladder up to company strategy.
3. Chair the Strategic Product Council

You lead the Strategic Product Council, the body that sits above the individual councils and sets company-level product direction.

  • Approves the roadmaps produced by each Product Council.
  • Allocates resources across our various Threads (strategic investment areas), making the hard trade-offs about where the company invests for maximum return.

The Team

You will lead a lean, high-leverage product organization:

  • VP, Product (you) — sets the product vision and strategy, runs the Strategic Product Council, and is accountable for the overall product portfolio and its outcomes.
  • You manage the agentic PM loop across all products, owning the agents, their outputs, and how they plug into the council system.
  • You coach the team on our process and on product craft—teaching PMs how to run discovery, write great PRDs, prioritize ruthlessly, work effectively alongside agents, run councils, and produce roadmaps that survive strategic review.
What Success Looks Like
  • A clear, trusted product vision and strategy that the company rallies behind.
  • Roadmaps that are evidence-based, customer-driven, and clearly tied to resourced Threads.
  • Products that ship on a healthy cadence and move the metrics that matter (adoption, retention, revenue).
  • The agentic PM loop reliably shortens the path from signal to decision.
  • Product Councils run crisply, with genuine cross-functional engagement from Sales and CS.
  • A strong, growing product team that excels at both classic PM craft and our agent-augmented process.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven product leadership. 10+ years in product management with several years leading and scaling product teams; a track record of shipping products customers love.
  • Product craft. Deep fluency in discovery, prioritization frameworks, roadmapping, PRD writing, metrics/OKRs, and the full product lifecycle.
  • Strategic judgment. You make and defend hard resource-allocation and trade-off decisions across competing priorities.
  • Agentic mindset. You believe AI agents change how product work gets done, and you have hands-on instincts for designing agent workflows—defining requirements, evaluating outputs, and iterating on quality.
  • Cross-functional leadership. You bring Sales, CS, Engineering, Design, and Marketing together and hold them to a high bar.
  • Customer and data obsession. You ground decisions in customer insight and data, not opinion.
  • Coach and multiplier. You grow the people and the process around you.

How We Invest In You

  • Healthcare that begins on your first day:
    • Generous company-funding of our health, vision, and dental plans
    • HSA/FSA plans
    • Short and Long-Term Disability
    • Life and Personal Accident Insurance
    • $40 monthly wellness stipend you can use towards any wellness, fitness, and wellbeing purchases
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
    • Adoption Assistance
  • Retirement: 401(k) at three months of employment — with a match upon enrollment!
  • Time away:
    • Discretionary PTO + 13 paid holidays
    • Parenthood: Competitive paid parental leave and flexible return to work policy
  • Recognition:
    • Generous Employee Referral Program - earn cash for each employee referral that is hired
    • Yearly Cipher-versary stipend
    • Ci-Phives - receive public kudos and gift cards from peers and managers
  • Culture:
    • CARE2 Values
    • Monthly All Teams Meetings
    • Employee Resource Groups such as Rainbow Room and BIPOC Group
    • Internal Webinars and robust onboarding / training programs
    • Remote-first team: $50 per month reimbursement in your check for WFH expenses
    • You’ll receive a new Macbook laptop, other hardware, and company swag upon hire

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
