Schrödinger seeks a Vice President of Marketing to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.

As a leader on our Marketing team, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you’ll architect our demand generation strategy and be responsible for building a robust top-of-funnel pipeline that converts scientific interest into measurable commercial growth. You won't just oversee a brand; you’ll scale a predictable lead-to-revenue machine that supports our mission to revolutionize drug discovery.

Who will love this job:

  • A growth architect with a proven track record of scaling B2B SaaS or Life Science organizations
  • A science aficionado who can translate complex workflows into compelling business outcomes in collaboration with chemists and other computational researchers
  • A marketing automation expert who believes that if it isn’t tracked, it didn’t happen
  • An excellent team player who thrives in cross-functional environments (this hire will connect Product R&D and Global Portfolio Leaders)

What you’ll do:

  • Own the global lead generation quota; develop and execute data-driven performance marketing strategies to aggressively grow Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Accepted Leads (SALs)
  • Partner with the CCO and Global Portfolio Leaders (GPLs) to define go-to-market strategies for our Life Sciences and our Materials Science suites, ensuring product positioning translates directly into the commercial pipeline
  • Map and optimize the buyers’ journey from initial awareness through to advocacy, utilizing HubSpot, HighSpot, and Salesforce to track attribution and ROI
  • Direct the creation of high-impact technical content (white papers, case studies, webinars) designed to capture intent and move pharma/biotech decision-makers through the funnel
  • Identify emerging trends and competitive shifts in the market, ensuring Schrödinger’s value proposition remains the gold standard in computational chemistry

What you should have:

  • At least ten years of marketing leadership experience (at least five years in B2B life sciences, biotech, or computational chemistry)
  • Extensive experience managing performance marketing budgets and hitting MQL/Pipeline targets
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, or related field); an MBA is a plus
  • Expert-level proficiency with HubSpot, Salesforce, MS Office, and Google Suite
  • Robust experience in digital marketing via search and social media
  • Familiarity with the drug discovery life cycle and informatics platforms
  • Background in computational modeling or drug discovery informatics is a plus

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
