Looking to hire a Vice President in the Institutional Capital Group, a division of KeyBank Real Estate Capital

The Institutional Capital Group focuses on providing creative financial solutions to institutionally backed commercial real estate owner operators throughout the U.S. focused within the Multifamily, Industrial, Healthcare, Data Center, and other asset classes. Responsible for the management of over $15+ billion in capital with a clear mandate to generate differentiated risk adjusted returns. Offices located in Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Seattle, and Tampa.

Seeking an entrepreneurial, hardworking, team-oriented candidate to serve as a Vice President to represent KeyBank as a trusted advisor to clients within the commercial real estate sector. Work directly with Senior Bankers to source and manage new clients in a collaborative team environment. Manage a portfolio of relationships with primary responsibility for assessing credit risks and enhancing the client’s relationship with KeyBank. Coordinate client interactions with KeyBank’s product partners including Commercial Mortgage, Debt Capital Markets, Syndications, Investment Banking and Payments. Interface directly with Credit Risk Management to ensure appropriate risk management, reporting and monitoring.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Coordinate with Senior Bankers to originate credit exposures ranging from $25 to $250 million
  • Analyze financial statements and underwrite bespoke balance sheet solutions
  • Prepare financial models, offering memorandums, term sheets, and client pitches
  • Showcase financing alternatives to client c-level suite
  • Negotiate term sheet, credit agreement and other ancillary legal documents
  • Manage internal deal approval process
  • Expand the client base through active networking at industry conferences
  • Monitor/manage existing portfolio
  • Mentor, coach and develop Analysts and Associates
  • Work in the office is generally expected, and periodic travel required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics (or equivalent experience in those fields)
  • 4-7+ years of experience in commercial real estate and/or banking
  • Strong credit, analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and strong work ethic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience transacting/banking with institutional real estate companies including REITs and Real Estate Private Equity Funds

Experience prospecting for new business and executing sales strategies leading to business growth. 
 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $150,000 to $180,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
