Job Opportunity

BHSI is seeking a technology leader to join our Enterprise Solutions team and own the technology strategy, engineering teams, and platform delivery for our global finance systems. This role sits within the Technology organization and reports to the Head of Enterprise Solutions.

You will lead engineers, architects, and delivery teams to modernize and scale our finance technology portfolio — covering General Ledger & Reporting, Credit Control & Receivables, and Finance & Accounting platforms. Your stakeholders span the Global Head of Finance and senior leaders across NICO and BHEI, while your team's accountability sits firmly within Technology. You serve as a trusted technology and engineering advisor — bridging strategic intent and technical delivery to earn and sustain the confidence of senior leadership.

We are seeking someone who has built and led engineering organizations, driven technology projects from within a technology function, and understands what it takes to deliver great platforms with high-performing tech teams. You will partner closely with finance leadership to understand their needs, and you will bring the technology leadership to solve them.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering organization (developers, architects, QA, DevOps) delivering finance technology solutions globally.
  • Own the full technology lifecycle for finance platforms: vision → strategy → architecture → build → deploy → operate → optimize.
  • Drive agile delivery practices across your teams — iterative development, CI/CD, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
  • Design and evolve a scalable, resilient finance technology ecosystem that integrates multiple platforms and ensures reliable data flow.
  • Lead build/buy/integrate decisions for enterprise platforms in collaboration with the EA team, driving end-to-end execution from concept to production deployment.
  • Define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap for finance platforms, aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive platform consolidation and application portfolio rationalization to reduce complexity and maximize value.
  • Evaluate and apply emerging technologies (AI/ML) pragmatically to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent across globally distributed teams.
  • Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Global Head of Finance and finance leadership to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Build business cases for technology investments and present to executive leadership for approval.
  • Lead RFP processes, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations for technology solutions.
  • Manage budgets for technology programs, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with priorities.
  • Identify and remediate technical debt and architectural complexity to maintain system reliability.
  • Drive change management and adoption strategies to ensure successful rollout of new platforms.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership, translating technical progress into business outcomes.
  • Ensure security, reliability, and availability of finance platforms in production.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years leading engineering or platform teams delivering enterprise software.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams — not just managing vendors or projects, rather than actually growing technical organizations.
  • Deep experience with agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery at scale.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise platform architecture — integrations, APIs, data flows, cloud infrastructure, and system design.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform for enterprise workloads.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute a multi-year technology vision while delivering near-term results.
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, translating between technical and business contexts.
  • Experience leading globally distributed, cross-functional teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and system integrators.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivery outcomes and operational excellence.
  • High ownership mindset — accountability, follow-through, and commitment to quality.
  • Experience with build/buy/partner decisions for enterprise platforms (ERP, data, reporting, integration tools).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with finance technology platforms (ERP systems, General Ledger, reporting tools, reconciliation platforms).
  • Working knowledge of finance operations — Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Financial Close, or similar processes.
  • Background in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with multi-currency operations, regulatory compliance, or financial reporting standards.
  • Understanding of audit processes and data governance frameworks for financial systems.

BHSI Offers:

  • A competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates.
  • A dynamic, action oriented, and thoughtful environment centered on always doing the right thing for our customers, teammates, and our other stakeholders.
  • A purposely non-bureaucratic organization that embraces simplicity over complexity and emphasizes individual excellence in a team framework.
  • Benefits that support your life and well-being, which include:
    • Comprehensive Health, Dental and Vision benefits.
    • Disability Insurance (both short-term and long-term).
    • Life Insurance (for you and your family).
    • Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (for you and your family).
    • Flexible Spending Accounts.
    • Health Reimbursement Account.
    • Employee Assistance Program.
    • Retirement Savings 401(k) Plan with Company Match.
    • Generous holiday and Paid Time Off.
    • Tuition Reimbursement.
    • Paid Parental Leave.

The base salary range for this position in Boston is $200,000 to $250,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.

NOTE: Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Team Member may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
