About the Role:
Fetch is hiring a Vice President of Communications to build and lead the company's full communications function spanning internal communications, corporate narrative, investor relations, B2B PR, and external media strategy with close partnership into consumer PR and brand marketing.
Reporting to the COO, this role sits at the intersection of every audience that matters to Fetch: employees, investors, press, analysts, partners, and the public. You will define how Fetch tells its story with clarity, consistency, and credibility across all internal and external channels. As Fetch enters its next phase of growth, this role is both a strategic operator and a narrative architect, ensuring the company speaks with one voice from the executive team to the world.
This is a deeply cross-functional role. You will serve as a trusted advisor and communications partner to the full executive team, and functional leaders across Marketing, Commercialization, Product, and People synthesizing the full breadth of Fetch's business into a single, coherent narrative. You will not represent one part of the company; you will represent all of it. You will build the communications org from the ground up, manage existing agency relationships, and serve as the connective tissue between what Fetch is building internally and how that story lands externally.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
Role Responsibilities:
Corporate Narrative & Master Messaging
- Own Fetch's master narrative the single, consistent story told to investors, press, employees, and partners
- Ensure the investor story, external brand story, and internal employee story are always in alignment
- Translate complex business dynamics into clear, compelling narratives across all audiences
Investor & Corporate Communications
- Lead investor communications strategy in partnership with the CFO, including fundraise preparation, board materials, earnings narratives, and shareholder communications
- Build and manage IR infrastructure in preparation for IPO
- Manage relationships with IR-specialist agencies as needed
External PR — B2B & Consumer
- Own Fetch's external PR strategy across both B2B and consumer audiences
- Manage and elevate existing PR agency relationships; assess and upgrade agency partnerships as needed
- Build and oversee a proactive B2B PR program including trade media, analyst relations, and executive thought leadership
- Partner closely with Brand Experience and Consumer Marketing on consumer PR strategy, ensuring Fetch's consumer narrative, cultural relevance, and lifestyle media presence are aligned with the broader corporate communications strategy
- Serve as the primary communications partner to Jeff Lau's Commercialization org for B2B narrative
Executive Communications
- Develop high-impact messaging for the CEO and senior leadership team across internal forums, board interactions, media appearances, and key external moments
- Build and manage a proactive executive visibility program
Internal Communications
- Define and lead Fetch's internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment to company priorities, operating cadence, and long-term vision
- Own the all-hands rhythm, leadership communications calendar, and manager enablement programs
- Ensure employees hear company news before the press does
Change & Crisis Communications
- Lead communications for major initiatives including reorgs, M&A, leadership transitions, and strategic pivots
- Own crisis and issues management across all audiences
- Build playbooks for high-stakes scenarios before they happen
Team Building & Agency Management
- Build and scale a high-performing communications org spanning IR, B2B PR, consumer PR, and internal comms
- Manage and develop existing junior PR team member
- Own day-to-day management of all PR and communications agency relationships
- Define hiring sequence and team structure as the function matures
Communication Systems & Cadence
- Build and optimize communication channels and rhythms (All Hands, leadership updates, board prep, investor calendar) to ensure consistent and effective information flow
- Establish feedback mechanisms to measure understanding, sentiment, and effectiveness of communications
Minimum Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience across corporate communications, PR, investor relations, internal communications, or related strategic communications roles
- Proven track record leading full-spectrum communications at scale
- Demonstrated experience operating at the intersection of investor communications, executive messaging, external PR, and corporate narrative
- Experience building or significantly scaling a communications function, including hiring and managing a team
- Experience managing PR agencies, evaluating, briefing, and holding them accountable to outcomes
- Track record in B2B PR including trade media, analyst relations, and thought leadership programs
- Exposure to investor communications, board materials, fundraise narratives, or IPO preparation
- Exceptional writing and storytelling ability, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex business and financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives
- High judgment and discretion in managing sensitive, confidential, and time-critical information
- Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience at a high-growth technology, marketplace, consumer platform, or fintech company
- Background in both consumer and B2B communications, ideally having managed both simultaneously
- Experience supporting a company through a fundraise, IPO, or significant capital markets event
- Familiarity with analyst relations programs (Gartner, Forrester, IDC or equivalent)
- Consumer PR experience including lifestyle media, influencer relations, and cultural marketing adjacency
- Experience in change management or organizational transformation communications
- MBA or advanced degree a plus
