Vice President, Advanced Development 

Summary of Position: 

We are looking for a Vice President to join our Advanced Development team. This role will help us build a new generation of innovative products for the Shark and Ninja brands. We thrive on designing and manufacturing great products that delight our customers. Working as part of our Advanced Development team, you will bring inspiration, creativity, and technical know-how to our development efforts to deliver credible solutions to populate our product roadmap.  

Role Functions: 

  • Takes a lead or support role in the development of novel concepts and technologies for our next generation of products.
  • Mentors more junior team members and supports all team members and encourages their efforts.
  • Collaborates to help establish a project’s user, design, and functional requirements, deliver robust solutions to satisfy those requirements, then help to validate through testing and building consensus on next steps.
  • Responsible for developing proof-of-concept prototypes via CAD, rapid prototyping, and testing with consumers.
  • Takes overall ownership of designs through conception, CAD, visualization, prototyping, and verification, whilst consistently working at pace & successfully mentors the team to do the same.
  • Continuously evaluates and improves designs for efficient design, manufacturing improvements, increased quality, and value to consumers.
  • Applies grounded engineering standards to deliver real solutions.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with our U.S. and China based Product Development teams to ensure that great ideas make it through to production.

Requirements:  

  • Education Level: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design Engineering with a focus on Engineering principles.
  • Approximately 10+ years proven experience in Mechanical/ Product Design/ Engineering environment.
  • Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable.
  • Experience of delivering real world products to market
  • Ability to use SolidWorks and/or Creo CAD package(s) to a high level.
  • Ability and drive to identify, solve, implement, and verify user and technical solutions.
  • Work samples that showcase consumer problems solved with applied design process.
  • “Hands-on” - building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting, from early mock-ups to fully functional integrated prototypes.
  • Flexible and collaborative- these are key to success at SharkNinja.
  • Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature.
  • Appreciation for electrical engineering, Arduino, C++, software and UX design helpful but not essential.
