Our mission is to accelerate healthcare innovation by supporting early-stage companies that leverage data, interoperability, and AI to improve outcomes and efficiency.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Venture Associate to join our U.S. team. As an Associate, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and supporting early-stage investment opportunities in digital health and AI. You will work closely with partners and portfolio companies, conduct market and technical diligence, and contribute to building a strong investment pipeline.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about healthcare innovation, have strong analytical skills, and thrive in dynamic environments at the intersection of venture capital, startups, and healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Building
    • Identify, engage, and develop relationships with promising digital health and AI founders, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
    • Track industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies.
  • Investment Diligence & Execution
    • Conduct financial, market, and technical analysis of prospective investments.
    • Support due diligence processes including customer references, market sizing, and regulatory analysis.
    • Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee.
  • Portfolio Support
    • Assist portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
    • Act as a bridge between InterSystems and portfolio founders, enabling collaboration on pilots, technical support, and commercialization opportunities.
  • Ecosystem Engagement
    • Represent InterSystems Ventures at industry conferences, pitch days, and startup events.
    • Build a network within the early-stage digital health and AI ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, corporate strategy, or early-stage startups.
  • Strong understanding of digital health, healthcare IT, interoperability, or AI/ML technologies.
  • Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and research skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in business, life sciences, or engineering a plus.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the investment strategy of a global healthcare leader.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge digital health and AI startups.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Professional growth in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
