Description

This role is both a People Manager of a small team and a hands-on UX Research Lead reporting into the Head of UX Research. You’ll work with the larger Verily UX team and cross-functional groups—including Product Managers, Software Engineers, Clinical Specialists and more. We are seeking someone with excellent research skills; a fierce advocate for the user; a compassionate mentor; and a system-level thinker, who is excited by the challenges of creating innovative and simple user experiences for complex workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of UX Researchers, leading them from product questions and research design to detailed findings and recommendations, and providing ongoing guidance on the team’s plans and deliverables.

  • Partner with cross-functional leads to determine product research roadmap and priorities, leveraging a variety of methods to suit diverse needs. 

  • Plan, nurture and grow the team’s UXR capabilities, providing mentorship and growth opportunities.

  • Play a hands-on role contributing to strategic and executional research projects, including independent research contributions.

  • Foster a strong user-focused culture by evangelizing insights and leveraging creative collaboration, presentation and engagement strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Human Factors, or related field with 7+ years of experience integrating user research into product designs design practices, and product strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across the product development process, from establishing strong UX strategy and conceptual foundations to successfully delivering high quality products.

  • 4+ years experience managing UX researchers and a passion for fostering talent and growing careers.

  • Deep experience with diverse research methods, design thinking, strategic research; excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S./M.A. or Ph.D. in a relevant field.

  • Past work that focuses on Healthcare products and/or mobile apps.

  • ​​Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments such as consulting or start-ups.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000 - $225,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
