General Summary:

Vertex University seeks an innovative expert in Educational Technology best practices and applications to join the internal Curriculum Team.  We recognize the growing possibilities for XR and other technological advancements and want to ensure that Vertex is poised to embrace and deploy innovative learning opportunities in response to changing workforce needs. The person in this position will join a team of passionate educators and play a critical role in developing best-in-class learning resources for complex subject matter. The willingness to embrace Vertex culture and values and the ability to incorporate our brand messaging in all deliverables is essential for success in this role.  Candidates should be comfortable presenting to small and large groups, providing use cases and demos to senior leaders, and excited to debate or champion the value of a proposed tool.

This role provides the opportunity to be at the forefront of learning development, responsible for bringing new ideas forward, providing rationale for adoption, and executing on deliverables that allow us to bring learning to Vertexians across a range of modalities.  The person in this role will work closely with the team in the design of course content and ancillary resources and be responsible for executing same with keen attention to detail and the ability to deliver with quick turn-around when needed.  A passion for research and organizing information will be a strong success factor. A portfolio of your recent work will need to be shared during the interview process.  Candidates should be comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and multiple workstreams. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bring innovative learning tools to Vertex that are supported by industry best practice
  • Act as recommender for adoption of technology platforms or modalities
  • Develop protocols for technology use cases and “fit”
  • Maintain expertise in current and future technologies through professional development
  • Develop interactive and engaging learning content for scientific and technical courses using technologies approved for validated environments
  • Partner with internal team in support of education initiatives
  • Maintain University standards of excellence when collaborating with Subject Matter Experts
  • Collaborate with the University team to ensure collateral is brand consistent
  • Ensure all products drive the intended learning outcomes and follow best-practices
  • Maintain curriculum assets in accordance with curriculum review cycle

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with course authoring software such as Articulate360
  • Knowledge and experience with low coding (JAVA Script)
  • Experience working with content access through an LMS (CSOD) in a GxP environment
  • An ongoing commitment to innovative design and the iterative process of a living curriculum
  • A strong desire to create, push boundaries, and take risks to engage learners
  • Superior communication skills with a keen eye for editing and style
  • Experience working with content specialists and subject matter experts across a range of disciplines
  • Strong collaborative style, with an ability to partner with multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of how to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic and fast- paced environment
  • Ability to envision content that resonates with Vertex’s unique culture
  • Highest level of ethics and commitment to Vertex’s core values and beliefs

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in education technology development or application
  • B.A. in Computer Science, Education, or studies and experience commensurate with same

Pay Range:

$119,700 - $179,600

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site Eligible

Flex Eligibility Status:

In this Remote-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
1.    Remote: work remotely five days per week and come into the office on occasion – you’re always welcome on-site; or select 
2.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
3.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.

Note: The Flex status for this position is subject to Vertex’s Policy on Flex @ Vertex Program and may be changed at any time.
