Standard Template Labs is a stealth-mode, AI-native startup reimagining the future of IT Service and Configuration Management. Backed by leading investors, we're leveraging AI, graph-based architecture, and exceptional design to transform how enterprises manage and engage with their technology ecosystems.

About the Role

We’re looking for a UX Designer who is passionate about designing for the AI era — crafting interfaces that feel natural, intelligent, and inevitable.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, AI-first user experiences that balance automation with user control

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and design leadership to shape workflows that leverage LLMs and intelligent systems

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design flows for enterprise-grade software with consumer-grade usability

  • Conduct user research and translate findings into design decisions

  • Define design systems and patterns for AI-driven interactions (prompts, conversational flows, adaptive UI)

  • Push the boundaries of what “good UX” means in an AI-native context

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of UX/product design experience (startup, SaaS, or enterprise software a plus)

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interaction design and system thinking

  • Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools (Framer, Principle, ProtoPie, etc.)

  • Extensive experience in using AI products

  • Comfortable with rapid iteration in a fast-paced, high-velocity startup environment

  • Bonus: background in service design, design research, or systems thinking

What We Offer

  • Define the UX patterns of AI-first enterprise software

  • Work directly with founders in a high-growth startup

  • Competitive salary + equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Work from our Midtown Manhattan office alongside the founding team in a focused, collaborative environment. We're in-office five days a week, moving quickly and building together—with easy access to public transportation.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
