KKR is seeing a US Payroll Professional to manage all aspects of payroll processing for the United States, Bermuda, and Canadian employee populations. This position ensures accurate and timely payroll operations in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can also act as a strategic partner during transformational business initiatives, including the integration of payroll operations in connection with a corporate merger.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end on and off-cycle payroll processes for US, Bermuda, & Canada employees. Will also assist with managing other international payroll operations (UK and Japan) to ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Review and ensure accuracy of payroll inputs, including earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Legal, and Finance on payroll policy and compliance matters.
- Provide strategic leadership in payroll process integration during company mergers or acquisitions.
- Maintain payroll process documentation and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests, providing necessary documentation, and partnering with auditors and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, transparency, and timely resolution of findings
- Partner with Human Capital Technology Team on Workday-to-ADP integrations to ensure seamless data flow between Workday and payroll systems, including responsibility for testing, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of integrations.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements to streamline and automate manual payroll tasks, with a strong focus on enhancing internal controls, leveraging technology to improve both accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Manage payroll-related projects from inception to completion, including defining scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables, while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience managing quarterly Form 941 and annual Form W-2 filings in compliance with US federal regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
- Outstanding organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with individuals across all levels in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Ability to work with highly confidential information and maintain discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients across all levels of the organization

This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
