Job Description
The objective of the Treasury and Chief Investment Office (TCIO) is to manage the Firm's consolidated balance sheet, including structural interest rate, foreign-exchange, and capital risks in conjunction with meeting the Firm's overall funding, liquidity, and capital requirements. Treasury's core functions include management of the firm's liquidity and capital positions, funding the firm globally, executing the firm's securitization and share repurchase programs, and managing the firm's relationships with rating agencies and fixed income investors.
The candidate will join the Treasury Product Control team within Finance and Business Management. Treasury Product Control serves as a strategic partner with Treasury Funding and supports the bank's treasury function by ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing risk, and providing insightful analysis. This role works closely with Front Office, risk management, and finance teams to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulatory requirements.
As an Associate within the Product Control team, you will gain exposure to analytical assessments of P&L, balance sheet and related market movements across a variety of funding products. This includes long-term debt as well as various short-term funding and cash deployment transactions. The role will also provide exposure to the firm's capital and liquidity management functions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop an in depth understanding of TCIO's financial forecasting models, systems, procedures, and process controls, specifically as it relates to the Firm's stress exercise initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Compile, report and analyze overall firm funding activities
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for the treasury function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with appropriate standards.
- Implement funding plan updates into related financial forecasts
- Partner with relevant Product Control and Planning & Analysis teams on implementation of forecast scenarios and analysis of results
- Engage in periodic reporting related to the firm's capital and liquidity position and activities
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for special projects as required by management
- Collaborate with Technology teams throughout the various stress exercise initiatives
- Contribute to data strategy initiatives focusing on automation and efficiencies
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes where appropriate
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 2 years of experience in product control, financial reporting, or a related role within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude
- Highly skilled at problem solving, with a logical and tenacious approach
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task as considerable flexibility is required for the role
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with Front Office, Finance and Technology teams
- High motivation, a desire to learn, and the ability to quickly climb the learning curve
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Previous experience in a bank or financial institution with exposure to fixed income products such as long-term debt, investment securities, repurchase agreements, and short-term borrowing instruments
- Proficiency in MS Excel /Alteryx/Python/SQL
- General understanding of basic accounting and financial reporting concepts
