POSITION SUMMARY

The Technology Strategy & Operations Senior Manager is a strategic, high-impact individual contributor who drives alignment and execution across RealTruck’s most complex, cross-functional technology initiatives. This role will own portfolio governance, operating cadence, and executive-ready decision materials to accelerate alignment and execution across enterprise stakeholders. The Senior Manager will report directly to the VP, Technology and partner closely with senior leaders across the business to drive clarity, decision velocity, and predictable delivery outcomes across the technology portfolio. We’re looking for a curious and adaptable problem solver who thrives in complexity, and brings both business acumen and technical fluency to accelerate results.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Portfolio Governance & Operating Cadence

·       Run a consistent operating rhythm across pillar initiatives (weekly execution reviews, milestone checkpoints, and executive/steering updates).

·       Maintain an integrated view of milestones, dependencies, risks, and decision points across the portfolio; keep a single source of truth for status.

·       Own the action tracker and decision log; document decisions, owners, due dates, and follow-through to prevent rework and drift.

·       Standardize program operating artifacts (charters, success metrics, readiness/gonogo packages, launch checklists, and postlaunch follow-up).

Portfolio Intake, Prioritization & Tradeoffs

·       Own portfolio intake and prioritization mechanisms for top initiatives; help structure sequencing, capacity implications, and tradeoffs with clear options and impacts.

·       Support quarterly planning inputs for the portfolio (outcome alignment, KPI definitions, milestone targets, and inter-program dependencies).

Executive Readouts & Decision Facilitation

·       Translate complex technology and operations work into concise, Executive Leadership Team-ready narratives: goals, tradeoffs, scope, cost, timeline, and decision asks.

·       Prepare pre-reads and decision memos; frame options and impacts to increase decision velocity and reduce surprises.

·       Coordinate pre-alignment with key stakeholders ahead of executive forums; capture outcomes and convert decisions into clear commitments and next steps.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Delivery Acceleration

·       Drive cross-functional initiative execution by coordinating inputs and dependencies across Technology, Supply Chain & Customer Service, IT, Data & Analytics, Sales, Marketing, and eCommerce.

·       Surface delivery risks early; propose mitigation paths (sequencing, scope, resourcing, or dependency resolution) and escalate with options.

·       Partner with program/product/engineering leaders to ensure plans are realistic, measurable, and consistently communicated.

Stakeholder Collaboration

·       Build productive working relationships across stakeholders to ensure timely inputs, shared accountability, and consistent execution.

·       Support stakeholder engagement through intake, synthesis, and follow-up; ensure alignment is maintained across functions as initiatives progress.

Continuous Improvement

·       Research best practices in technology operating models, portfolio management, and program governance; recommend improvements that fit RealTruck’s culture and scale.

·       Identify and implement process improvements that reduce friction across workstreams and improve visibility, predictability, and execution reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent business leadership experience strongly preferred.

·       9+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives in strategy, operations, program leadership, consulting, or related roles.

·       Demonstrated success driving high-visibility, multi-stakeholder initiatives with executive-level visibility and measurable outcomes.

·       Experience leading complex, deadline-driven programs involving external partners and cross-functional teams (e.g., consulting, operations, product/program management, media/production, agency, or technology-enabled environments).

·       Experience with enterprise platforms and systems dependencies (e.g., supply chain planning, ERP/OMS, customer service, analytics, and digital commerce) is a plus; specific platform experience (e.g., AWS Supply Chain, NetSuite) is not required.

Required Licenses

·       None.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

·       Exceptional executive communication and synthesis; can convert ambiguity into clear narratives, decisions, and next steps.

·       Strong operating discipline: cadence management, action tracking, dependency/risk management, and follow-through.

·       Influence without authority; effective across senior stakeholders with competing priorities.

·       Business judgment and structured problem-solving; can present options with tradeoffs and impacts.

·       Technical fluency sufficient to collaborate with engineers and understand constraints (deep engineering background not required).

·       High integrity and discretion; trusted partner for sensitive topics and executive discussions.

Travel

·       Minimal travel required; 10% or less.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
