InterSystems supports customers as they upgrade their HealthShare® applications.  Our Upgrade Assistance Team is looking for experienced candidates who are self-motivated, creative, and energetic problem solvers to join the team supporting development and administration of the tools, systems, and environments used to upgrade HealthShare®. This program provides a true challenge and opportunity for applicants to shape the mutual success of the program, the customer experience, and their own careers.

As a member of this team, you will sharpen your technical, professional, and personal skills in a highly collaborative environment. You are engaged in all stages of the HealthShare® upgrade lifecycle, providing leadership in the development of tools and methodologies to improve the customer’s experience of HealthShare® upgrades.

This hybrid position is Boston, Massachusetts based.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in tandem with the Service Executive managing the project. 
  • Provide technical leadership on multiple, simultaneous upgrade projects, provide guidance to the UAP team; when necessary, own the feedback loop to HealthShare® development. 
  • Develop tools to help assess customer systems for upgrade readiness, automate and monitor upgrade processes, and otherwise improve the HealthShare® upgrade customer experience.
  • Manage the technical aspects of the project – including the care and feeding of the tools developed for the upgrade, guidance on problems encountered, advice on strategies.  This includes attending customer calls and iterative environment upgrades.
  • Manage the HealthShare testbed environment, including Code Compare. 
  • Incorporate lessons from each project experience into the larger effort to improvement in the overall upgrade approach and execution.
  • Recognize areas for internal improvement and collaborate on plans for implementing them.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing or supporting InterSystems technology and/or healthcare systems highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Health Information Exchange (HIE) standards and best practices.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting live systems.
  • Experience with networking or system architecture.
  • Experience coding with existing application tools or closing gaps by developing new utilities.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to solve difficult problems and develop creative solutions; ability to identify key issues/problems through analysis and questions and attack problems systematically; ability to identify non-obvious relationships.
  • Creative and open-minded approach to issue investigation and fully-documented resolution.
  • Adapts approach to be effective working with different people; is comfortable interacting with people who are more senior or more experienced; is friendly, personable, and engaging.
  • Expert issue, project, time, and priority management with high standards for thoroughness, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Figures things out independently in ambiguous or unstructured situations; runs with ideas/initiatives without needing direction or supervision; is comfortable with taking risks going into a novel situation; directly addresses or raises issues of concern.

Education and Training:

  • University degree or 6+ years’ experience managing large, complex projects, preferably in healthcare IT
  • Technical knowledge in software and implementation processes
  • Some development experience in InterSystems technologies required.
  • Continued pursuit of Certification/Continuing Education, such as:
    • InterSystems Applications
    • System Management and/or Architecture
    • Network Management
    • IT Project Management
