Lead a technical sales team selling electrical products and services. Set sales objectives, develop forecasts and pipeline, deliver technical presentations, train the team on products and competitors, nurture customer and supplier relationships, and partner with internal teams on product roadmap and market intelligence.
As a Manager – Technical Sales, you will provide strategic direction and progressive leadership in the assigned technical product category to sales vertical leadership. You will manage a team of project and/or sales specialists that sell technical services, products, and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and promote execution of technical product sales, including execution of objectives and sales goals.
- Manage a team that specifies products to meet customer requirements and needs.
- Ensure that the team delivers compelling technical presentations that drive sales.
- Partner with sales vertical leadership to develop comprehensive sales plans and forecasts to identify and produce a steady pipeline of prospects.
- Utilize technical acumen to educate the team on products, competitors, and prospects.
- Nurture relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Partner with internal technical and marketing teams to utilize customer insights and market intelligence to contribute to the product roadmap.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree –Engineering or Business
- Sales experience in related industry (5-7 years)
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Electrical industry experience as a manufacturer or distributor (3-5 years)
- Management of staff and programs (3 years)
- Ability travel 25% - 50%
