Job Description:

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the development of a cutting-edge quantitative portfolio risk platform from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to build a greenfield system that will be instrumental in our firm's risk management and investment decision-making processes. As the Product Manager, you will be the driving force behind the platform's vision, strategy, and execution, working closely with a team of talented engineers, quant developers, and risk management professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Strategy: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the quantitative portfolio risk platform, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall risk management goals and investment strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the firm, including portfolio managers, risk managers, quant researchers, engineers, and senior management, to understand their needs and manage their expectations.
  • Product Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and launch. Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development team.
  • Technical Acumen: Possess a strong technical understanding of quantitative risk models, data architectures, and software development methodologies. Contribute to technical design decisions and evaluate trade-offs, ensuring the platform is scalable, performant, and meets the evolving needs of users.
  • Prioritization & Execution: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing long-term strategic enhancements with tactical enhancements required by the business. Ensure timely delivery of features and functionality while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical teams. Effectively communicate product updates, roadblocks, and successes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Platform Adoption: Drive the adoption of the platform across the firm. Develop training materials, conduct user onboarding sessions, and provide ongoing support to ensure users can effectively leverage the platform's capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and launching complex analytics platforms, preferably in the risk management domain.
  • Deep understanding of quantitative risk models, including but not limited to VaR, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
