At Summit, we build and operate the infrastructure behind some of the most critical applications in regulated industries. The work is complex, expectations are high, and the environments we support require precision and thoughtful execution.

We specialize in enterprise-class Application Hosting, Managed Services, and Cloud Solutions, with deep expertise in compliance, security, and performance. Our focus is simple: make the complex manageable and deliver technology that works - reliably, securely, and at scale.

Complex technology environments need someone who can see the whole picture: how the infrastructure works, where the risks are, and what the business will need next.

As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you’ll be a key technical relationship partner for enterprise clients with complex infrastructure environments. You’ll develop a deep understanding of their business and technical goals, helping them maximize value from our platform while partnering with internal teams to mitigate risks, plan for future needs, and drive long-term success.

You’ll own the ongoing technical relationship for your assigned clients, working across client stakeholders and Summit teams to connect strategy with execution. This role calls for deep infrastructure knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to bring the right people together when the work gets complicated.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the technical relationship across a portfolio of complex enterprise clients, serving as a trusted advisor to technical leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client’s business, infrastructure, architecture, stakeholders, priorities, technical dependencies, and use of Summit services.
  • Build relationships across client teams and identify opportunities to strengthen those connections over time.
  • Lead proactive conversations about technical governance, operational health, capacity, resilience, scalability, technical debt, and infrastructure lifecycle needs.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early, working with clients and Summit teams to develop plans before they become larger issues.
  • Provide strategic technical recommendations and roadmaps aligned with each client’s business objectives and technology strategy.
  • Bring technical insight and account context to QBRs, architecture discussions, business reviews, and strategic planning conversations.
  • Partner with account teams on customer health, renewal readiness, and expansion opportunities grounded in client needs.
  • Guide clients through major transitions, including onboarding, steady-state support, expansions, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Maintain technical and relationship oversight during delivery to keep requirements, commitments, communication, and handoffs aligned.
  • Lead structured remediation efforts for technically complex accounts that need elevated attention.
  • Coordinate across Support, Engineering, Delivery, PMO, Operations, Sales, and other Summit teams to keep technical priorities visible and actions moving.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and infrastructure practices, translating relevant developments into useful guidance for clients.

What You’ll Deliver:
  • Trusted relationships with senior technical and executive stakeholders.
  • A clear, current understanding of complex client environments and how Summit services support them.
  • Technical recommendations and roadmaps that strengthen resilience, scalability, and long-term infrastructure health.
  • Early visibility into technical risks, with clear plans and ownership for addressing them.
  • Valuable QBRs, architecture discussions, and strategic planning conversations.
  • Smooth transitions across sales, onboarding, delivery, projects, and ongoing support.
  • Strong technical input into renewal planning and qualified expansion opportunities.
  • Coordinated remediation efforts with clear client communication and internal accountability.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:
  • Bring deep experience in infrastructure design, implementation, architecture, operations, or technical advisory work.
  • Have worked with complex enterprise environments and understand how infrastructure decisions affect critical business operations.
  • Can connect a client’s business objectives to practical technical recommendations and longer-term plans.
  • Build credibility with engineers, technical leaders, and executives.
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear conversations and actionable decisions.
  • Can guide work across multiple teams and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Spot risks, ask good questions, and follow through when the path forward is complicated.
  • Stay curious about emerging technologies while keeping your recommendations grounded in what the client needs.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience in Technical Account Management, technical consulting, or another customer-facing advisory role.
  • Experience in managed services, cloud infrastructure, hosting, MSP, or data center environments.
  • Broad knowledge of public and private cloud, virtualization, compute, networking, storage, backup and disaster recovery, security, containers, and related technologies.
  • Experience conducting architecture, capacity, resilience, operational health, or infrastructure lifecycle reviews.
  • Technical certifications across AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, networking, security, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF, or business analytics tools such as Power BI.
