We’re looking for an experienced Tech/Team Lead of Web team to spearhead the evolution of Planner5D’s core web platform. This is a unique opportunity to stay hands-on as a tech leader and lead a high-impact back-end team. In this role, you will work closely with CTO, Product managers and participate in cross-team feature development. Our dynamic work environment and challenging tech tasks offers the opportunity to gain in-depth product experience with our Planner 5D platform.
Note that you should be prepared working as a Contractor under B2B service agreement.
What You’ll Do
- Hands‑on development: architect and implement complex features using PHP/Symfony backend and TS.
- Build well-engineered features that don’t require rework — we value quality over quick fixes.
- Deliver roadmap features: drive projects with a strong focus on measurable product impact.
- Lead the back-end team: Grow the back-end team by setting a high bar for technical quality, collaboration, and ownership. Mentor engineers, initiate technical workshops, manage hiring and onboarding.
- Actively collaborate with C-level, product managers, data team and designers to align on priorities, timelines, and product outcomes.
Skills & Requerements:
- 10+ years of full-stack development (PHP & JavaScript/TypeScript).
- 2+ years in a leadership role — Tech Lead or Team Lead.
- Backend: PHP 7.4 / 8.1, Symfony framework, SQL (SQLite, MySQL, PosgreSQL, ...), Redis, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Docker, Git.
- Frontend: JavaScript (legacy code), TypeScript, jQuery, Three.js (WebGL), SVG rendering, Webpack, WebSocket, browser‑based performance optimization.
- Payment systems / APIs (PayPal, Stripe, Apple / Google payment processing, ...)
- Testing: PHPUnit (backend), Jest (frontend).
- Know how to write clean and maintainable code
- Best practices in security, performance, memory management, maintainability, data structure, ...
- Good understanding of server infrastructure, web protocols (HTTP, Web Sockets, ...)
- Understanding of mathematics, geometry
- 2D and 3D graphics (for example Canvas, WebGL, OpenGL, ...)
