The Impact of a Tax Analyst at Coupa:
This role will strengthen Coupa’s global Tax function by ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient tax operations across federal, state, and international jurisdictions. By delivering high-quality tax reporting, automated compliance processes, and well-supported technical research, this position enhances Coupa’s financial integrity, mitigates risk, and supports strategic decision-making. Additionally, the role drives cross-functional alignment by partnering with global teams on transfer pricing, tax policy development, and M&A due diligence, enabling scalable growth and long-term operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Manage all day-to-day aspects of tax department
- Support the preparation and review of the federal, state and foreign income tax returns
- Research international, federal and state tax technical matters and draft memorandums to support and document conclusions
- Assist with an annual global tax provision and assist in quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax accruals
- Assist with coordinating VAT/GST/Sales/Use tax payments and related issues
- Collaborate with international accounting teams to oversee annual book to tax adjustments, review and monitor transfer pricing agreements and ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Assist with income tax and indirect tax audits including the preparation of responses to inquiries from tax authorities
- Coordinate special projects such as the R&D credit study
- Support inter-company agreement/calculation, transfer pricing structure, documentation, and global TP policies
- Develop and communicate new tax policies and procedures to cross-functional teams
- Assist the business development group by providing advice and conducting due diligence on M&A transactions
- Conduct special tax projects as needed
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Minimum of a B.S. in Finance, Accounting; willing to obtain a CPA license
- 2-4 years of combined public accounting and industry direct tax accounting experience is preferred
- Experience in technology industry
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong work ethic and commitment, maintaining a positive attitude also under pressure
- Ability to thrive in a creative, dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and resources effectively, while meeting deadlines and delivering quality work
The estimated pay range for this role is $79,000 - $99,000
The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
