We have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Advisor. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality tax advice, planning, and return preparation services to assigned WETCS clients and ensuring high client and Wealth Enhancement Group (WEG) Financial Advisor satisfaction through this role’s work and interactions.
The Tax Advisor collaborates with other WETCS and WEG employees to improve individual and team expertise, effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction, and helps enhance the WETCS and WEG brands via high quality work output and professional, responsive, and respectful interactions with clients, WEG employees, and professional communities.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $115,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. This role is also eligible for our corporate tax bonus.
Primary Job Functions
Tax Preparation, Planning, and Advisory Services (~80%)
Prepare tax returns, including related work documents for Individuals, and if appropriate, one or more of these categories: Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Trusts, Estates, Foundations, and Foreign Reporting.
Prepare tax strategies and projections.
Provide tax planning advice to clients and their WEG Financial Advisors.
Conduct tax research and planning, including but not limited to CCH Intelliconnect, BNA projections, special research projects, and retirement account recommendations.
Review and respond to tax notices.
Respond State and Federal Auditors inquiries and work to resolve them.
Amend tax returns.
Help Drive Effectiveness, Productivity and Revenue Increases (~7%)
Help identify and/or operationalize process, systems, tools, and communications improvements to enhance effectiveness, productivity and responsiveness.
Help identify opportunities to increase value delivered to clients and revenue for WETCS and Financial Advisor teams while working with clients.
When appropriate, promote WETCS services offerings to assigned tax clients.
Ensure that urgent or high impact issues affecting assigned clients are quickly resolved.
Foster Teamwork (~5%)
Build and maintain good relationships with Financial Advisor teams and clients.
Collaborate with team members to improve team effectiveness, productivity, and satisfaction.
Share tax expertise and assist team members as appropriate.
Contribute to maintaining a positive and fun team culture.
Tax expertise and Professional Growth (~8%)
Maintain expertise in all aspects of tax compliance.
Maintain fluency in tax related software, tools and procedures used at WETCS.
Grow your tax expertise in at least one area of tax each year through continuing professional education and individual learning.
Stay informed about current trends in tax and the tax services industry.
Answer tax related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Financial Advisor Teams and other WEG employees.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Finance or Business; BS in Accounting preferred.
CPA or EA required.
Minimum of 4 years of tax accounting experience.
Experience preparing high net worth individual tax returns (1040).
Experience doing tax planning / projections.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent financial acuity.
Proficiency in Excel, CCH Axcess / ProSystems software, and CCH Intelliconnect
Collaborative; strong team-orientation.
Positive solution-focused attitude.
Detail oriented and diligent.
Drive for results and excellence.
Some travel to a remote office may be required.
