Systems Engineer (Enterprise IT / Active Directory / Virtualization)

Responsibilities include:- Supporting system engineering activities across acquisition and sustainment programs at Hanscom AFB
- Managing and maintaining program technical baselines
- Supporting system integration, validation, and performance verification activities
- Participating in technical reviews of architectures, requirements, and test strategies
- Performing trade studies and capability analyses to support engineering decisions
- Supporting interface definition and integration across multiple subsystems and mission services
- Developing technical documentation including:
- requirements artifacts
- test plans
- implementation plans
- engineering assessments
- Supporting engineering risk identification and mitigation aligned with Air Force SEAM processes
- Assisting with evaluation of COTS/GOTS solutions for compliance with DoD standards
- Supporting lifecycle engineering across:
- acquisition
- integration
- deployment
- sustainment
- operations oversight
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Candidates with experience in the following areas tend to excel in this role:
Hands-on familiarity with:
- Windows Active Directory
- Domain Controllers
- Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- FSMO roles
Experience supporting Windows-based application hosting environments using:
- ESXi
- VxRail
- Enterprise virtual machine provisioning and sustainment
Working knowledge of:
- network topologies
- ports and protocols
- ACAS vulnerability scanning
- secure system integration within DoD environments
Strong candidates will also bring experience supporting:
- technical requirements documentation
- system test planning and validation activities
- implementation planning within DoD acquisition environments
- interface definition and subsystem integration
- configuration and technical data management
- performance and reliability assessments
- modeling and simulation for requirements validation
- cost vs capability trade studies
- Multi-Objective Decision Analysis (MODA)
- Must be a US Citizen
- Secret Security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical engineering
All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
The annual salary range: $145k - $160k. Salary is dependent upon the role and associated responsibilities, candidate's experience, and qualifications to include education/training, and key skills.
