Job Overview:
The System Engineering team is looking for a senior level executive that will be responsible for the development and integration of high-performance interconnect technologies to enable Graphcores customer base in the datacenter space. This leader is accountable for the development and deployment of a high-performance interconnect solution, targeting cloud-scale environments.
The role also includes the definition of requirements, assessment of organic and inorganic strategies and the engagement with industry ecosystem partners to leverage and align to industry specifications. This candidate will drive the staffing of an R&D team to drive development, demonstration and deployment at scale. This person will also be responsible for operational success, strategic alignments and integration with R&D efforts spanning multiple internal as well as external organizations.
In addition, this individual will be responsible for engaging the Graphcore partners ecosystem and enable them to deliver Gr aphcorebased solutions – at-scale – to their end customers. Graphcore partners range from cloud providers with custom designs to SoC vendors shipping to a broad range of customers. As such, this is a pivotal leadership role to realizing the promise of next generation cloud-scale web services and AI/ML/GenAI for everyone!
Responsibilities:
- Development of the engineering plan and investment case for in-house development and integration of existing technologies to deliver a market leading interconnect solution
- Interpersonal planning and execution to rapidly establish a capable R&D organization for high-performance interconnect
- Direction to matrix-based R&D functions, oversight to requirements, roadmap and PLM
- Engagement with Supply Chain and other corporate functions to manage 3rd party components (e.g. cables, switches, IP)
- Ownership of hardware (e.g., modules, cards), firmware/drivers and SDK development
- Ownership of system interconnect software development including host, switch, fabric management, diagnostics and monitoring
- Collaboration with performance engineering teams on benchmarking, system-scale testing and validation
- Oversight of support functions such as programs management, quality, DevOps, etc.
- Management of budgets in accordance to evolving corporate financial planning and reporting requirements
- Oversight of operational activities, ensuring that resources are made available and managed effectively
- Representation on industry consortiums/boards, such as UEC and UAlink, to assess leverage and interoperability
- Representation of Graphcoresystem interconnect engineering with customers, at industry events and forums
Required Skills and Experience :
- Extensive knowledge of high-performance interconnects, performance, standards, supply chain, and global market trends.
- Outstanding leadership skills including mentorship, teambuilding, conflict resolution, with a history of building and motivating high-performing global teams
- Ability to recruit a world-class team in short timeframe
- Organizational and strategic management skills, including strategic vision definition, development planning and resources forecasting
- Ability to influence at all levels, across engineering and business organizations internal and external to Arm, in their peer group, across strategy and execution
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Highly experienced in managing human capital across geographies and functional areas to drive workforce development and achieve desired results
- Advanced interpersonal skills catered to a wide variety of audiences.
- Track record of timely, to-specification delivery of multiple complex projects in parallel
- Extensive business acumen, technical knowledge, and proven experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains
- Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with executive/C-level roles for internal and external partners
- Prepared to challenge the status quo constructively at senior level
- Willingness to travel as needed
