Reports to: CIDO (Chief Information and Digital Officer)

Job Summary:

As SVP, Corporate Systems & Supply Chain Technology, you will own a unified, strategic technology agenda to run and mature our clubs, gas stations, distribution centers, and supply chain. Reporting directly to the EVP, Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO), you will lead a large, cross-functional organization (Product, Engineering, and Support Operations) to plan and deliver resilient systems, scalable platform services, and digital capabilities that enable operational excellence, member experience, and profitable growth.

This role is both strategic and deeply operational: You will oversee leaders across the system domains to set a multi-year modernization roadmap, own vendor & partner strategies, and collaborate with merchandising, supply chain, and club leadership to accelerate automation across the front line, back-office, and distribution network.

Your role will consolidate leadership of two domains — Enterprise Excellence and Club Excellence — to provide coherent technology stewardship across the back-office, supply chain, and club systems. Your decisions will materially affect member experience, the productivity for 25,000+ team members, and enterprise resiliency. This is a visible, high-impact role on the Technology Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Roadmap

  • Serve as the executive technology and business process leader for all core enterprise (Merchandising, Supply Chain Planning, Finance, Human Capital Management, Payroll, Legal, Real Estate) and field (Warehouse, Transportation, Club, and Gas Station) technology solutions.
  • Translate business priorities (supply chain efficiency, automation, omni-channel integration, labor productivity) into measurable technology roadmaps and investment plans that support strategic business priorities.
  • Serve on the Technology Leadership Team and partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Operations, etc. leaders to align investment priorities, governance, and delivery.

Technology Portfolio Management

  • Own the strategy for core platforms that run our merchandise planning, purchasing, warehouse management, transportation, POS, workforce management, replenishment/order management integrations, ERP, and asset management systems.
  • Ensure seamless omnichannel flows between digital channels, fulfillment systems, and clubs to optimize inventory, reduce friction at the point of sale, and improve fulfillment economics.
  • Guide investment strategies and capital/expense planning across the domain to accomplish integration, scalability, and value delivery.

Delivery Oversight & Capability Development

  • Govern prioritized high-value initiatives, including supply chain automation, POS modernization, cloud migrations, site resiliency, and cost-to-serve improvements.
  • Ensure successful development, implementation, and adoption of initiatives, enabling automation, process improvement, and data-driven insights.
  • Establish strong product management, engineering, and support practices across teams to ensure predictable delivery, value realization, and transparency.
  • Modernize applications and drive API-based integration to improve velocity and reduce technical debt.
  • Establish scalable and secure architecture standards across the technology domains.
  • Enforce clear success metrics and benefits realization frameworks for all major programs.
  • Partner closely with Cybersecurity and Risk to ensure secure architecture, endpoint posture, and regulatory compliance across retail and supply chain systems. Maintain compliance posture through continuous control monitoring and audit readiness.
  • Ensure DR/BCP readiness and test recovery playbooks periodically.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Own capital and operating budgets for your domains; produce financial plans that fund modernization while realizing cost efficiencies.
  • Lead vendor strategy, contract negotiation, MSP governance and third-party performance management to extract maximum value and innovation from partners.
  • Develop multi-year investment plans balancing near-term ROI with long-term modernization.

Talent, Culture & Organization

  • Recruit top talent, create clear career pathways, and ensure succession for mission-critical roles. Foster servant leadership, psychological safety, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with HR and Technology leadership to streamline and standardize roles and responsibilities (product management, solution architecture, software engineering, and support operations).
  • Model executive presence and develop next-generation leaders capable of enterprise impact. Coach, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure team participation in key industry forums to stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to your technology domains.

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 20+ years of progressive technology leadership experience with at least 5+ years in an executive role (SVP/VP) leading large, distributed IT organizations in retail, supply chain, or multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated ownership of both application portfolios, such as SAP (FICO, Retail/Merch, SCM, S/4HANA), JDA/Blue Yonder, Manhattan WMS, Workday, and POS solutions (e.g., Toshiba ACE).
  • Proven track record delivering large programs, such as ERP, WMS, and POS re-platforms with systems integration, digital transformation, and large-scale project/program management.
  • Strong financial acumen: budget ownership, capital planning, vendor contracting and commercial negotiation experience.
  • Retail or multi-site operational experience strongly preferred (experience with Toshiba ACE, Toshiba Elira, or modern POS platforms is a plus).
  • Exposure to enterprise automation, AI/ML enablement, or advanced analytics integration considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and building high-performing agile delivery teams.
  • Leadership Competencies:
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial orientation and ability to translate technology into measurable business outcomes.
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills — able to influence C-level stakeholders and align cross-functional partners.
  • Proven change agent: able to drive transformation in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining operational stability.
  • Servant leader with high emotional intelligence; skilled at building diverse, high-performing teams and mentoring senior leaders.
  • Data-driven decision maker with a bias for measurable results and continuous improvement.
  • Enterprise mindset and systems thinking orientation that connect technology choices to member, associate, and shareholder outcomes.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid role based at our Marlborough, MA headquarters with travel to clubs, distribution centers, and partner sites as required.
  • On-call availability for major incidents and critical change windows.
  • Expectations for visibility at key operational locations and active engagement with field leadership.

This role is pivotal in shaping BJ’s next generation of operational technology and delivering tangible impact across the member, team member, and shareholder experience.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
