The Supply Chain Specialist will manage shipping, receiving, materials handling, and inventory management to optimize supply chain performance.
We're looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role encompasses shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory management. You'll ensure the seamless flow of materials, uphold stringent quality and regulatory standards, and play a vital role in optimizing our supply chain performance.
This role is required 5 days/week on-site during normal working hours.
ResponsibilitiesShipping, Receiving, & Material Handling- Inspect packages for visible damage prior to acceptance of both indirect and direct materials.
- Review packing slips for accuracy of package contents and alignment with purchase orders, then receive orders.
- Move materials to their pending inspection physical location and organize them by part number.
- Process outgoing shipments, both domestic and international.
- Ensure a clean and organized loading dock and receiving area.
- Move product to its correct physical location and update the system accordingly.
- Fulfill inventory requests and update the system to decrement inventory quantities.
- Periodically perform physical counts to verify on-hand amounts match system records.
- Store materials in designated locations within the stock room or clean room, adhering to strict clean room protocols and material handling procedures.
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage materials for production, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing workstations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems and manual tracking methods.
- Manage and dispose of materials in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all clean room protocols, including gowning procedures, material transfer procedures, and contamination control measures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or a technical field of study.
- 1-2 years of experience in a supply chain, logistics, or materials handling function.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to follow strict procedures and protocols.
- Strong communication, continuous improvement, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 lbs as needed. Team lift 150 lbs.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment, including wearing appropriate gowning.
