Ternary is a recognized leader in the market, managing more than $7.5 billion in cloud spend for our customers. Join us as we take FinOps to the next level.

As a Summer Marketing Intern at Ternary, you’ll play an important role in supporting our digital marketing efforts, learning the essentials of campaign execution, social media management, and market research.

We:

  • Are a passionate team devoted to building the platform we wish we had in our past roles as engineers, finance leaders, and operators.

  • Have a founding team with deep experience; many of us helped build the earliest products in the FinOps space.

  • Serve enterprise customers and managed service providers operating at massive scale.

You:

  • Are a rising Junior, Senior, or recent college graduate pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Marketing or a related field.

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Are familiar with social media platforms and digital marketing trends.

  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with a positive attitude.

  • Bonus points if you have experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, HubSpot, or Google Analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns.

  • Create engaging social media content (both messaging and graphics) across platforms.

  • Support website content publication and maintenance.

  • Conduct market and competitor research.

  • Analyze marketing campaign metrics and contribute to reporting.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on brainstorming and content development.

Details:

  • Location: Must be based in Boston or the Greater Boston area and willing to meet in-person on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

  • Compensation: $20/hour.

  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, maximum. Monday-Friday (Not eligible for overtime).

  • Internship Duration: June through August 2025.

Comp and benefits:

  • Company-sponsored travel to interact with colleagues several times a year.

  • We provide generous health benefits, 401(k) plan, and a WFH budget for you to set up your home office (not available for contract or short term roles such as internships).

  • Equity compensation so that all employees can participate in Ternary's success (not available for contract or short term roles such as internships).

  • The team culture is the best of what you would expect to see at a startup combined with a level of maturity you would see at a much larger company.

At Ternary, we value diversity. We are an equal opportunity employer: we do not discriminate on the basis of racial orientation, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Ternary is a remote-first company.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
