About the Opportunity

      Are you ready to leverage what you are learning in school? Step into a career with purpose at Econ One. We are currently hiring Summer Analysts to join the Schafer Group (Healthcare Economics Practice) between June 2026 and August 2026.

  As a Summer Analyst in the Schafer Group, you will work with a team of experienced economists, consultants, and senior analysts under the supervision of . Although our staff work remotely nationwide, the Schafer Group is a tight-knit team within Econ One that consults on projects related to economic analysis and econometrics for healthcare litigation and public policy.

Analysts in our group support experts testifying in antitrust, class action, and other commercial disputes about topics such as monopolization, price fixing, health care reimbursement, pharmaceutical pricing, and medical monitoring costs. Summer Analysts will develop a strong understanding of the structure and function of the healthcare industry, as well as the critical role that competition plays in it.

  Analysts are involved in all aspects of the consulting engagement. They conduct research, perform statistical analyses, and substantiate their findings. They think critically, synthesize complex information into clear and precise thoughts for presentations and other deliverables, and communicate their results succinctly to drive projects forward.

  Your responsibilities as a Summer Analyst will include…

  • Importing, processing, and analyzing data using SAS, Stata, and Python.
  • Drafting technical memos that explain the steps taken in cleaning and analyzing large, complex datasets
  • Identifying deficiencies in data productions and drafting data questionnaires
  • Reviewing and logging produced documents and depositions; extracting information necessary for our analysis and reports
  • Conducting research, including the identification of relevant peer-reviewed literature
Requirements

  Qualifications:

  • Rising Seniors majoring in an analytical field (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science)
  • GPA of 3.4 or higher

Preferred Skills:

  • Coursework in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science, or other quantitative fields
  • Introductory knowledge of SAS, Stata, Python, or other statistical software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with data presentation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; dedicated to seeing projects through to the completion.
  • Time management skills and attention to detail
