Product Development Intern 

Work Period: Mid May- Mid August 

Location: In office in Needham, MA office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position. 

We are looking for a passionate Intern or recent grad. You thrive in a creative, dynamic work environment. As a member of the Product Development team, you will bring together a creative product marketing role and technical outlook to our creative efforts to ensure that imaginative but credible solutions populate our ambitious product roadmap. This role will be part of our growing Ninja Product Development team, working on a variety of new innovative kitchen products. 

Overview 

In this position, the associate will work alongside the product development team to help bring new innovative products to market. Specifically, this position will be responsible for: 

  • Partnering with Product Development team members to help with the successful product launches of new and cutting-edge products 
  • Aiding Product Developers with maintaining their businesses through: 
  • Collaborating with Brand Marketing and Creative teams on creation and updates to go-to market packaging, instruction guides, and other product collateral needs 
  • Tracking our competitive landscape and providing analysis for areas of opportunity 
  • Owning item (SKU) creation and accessory development for Domestic & International product launches 
  • Coordination and execution of consumer research activities with internal and external testers in collaboration with Consumer Insights team and being able to report findings out to the cross-functional team 
  • Tracking of findings and action items from consumer research and product reviews 
  • Conducting ad-hoc analytical deep dives into consumer reviews – both Ninja products and competitors – to understand the consumer’s point of view 
  • Aiding Product Developers with technical needs through: 
  • Iterative testing of benchmarks, competitors, or any validation activities needed to support development decisions 
  • Sample management and coordination and for retailer meeting needs and cross functionally

  • An entrepreneurial mindset 
  • Someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment 
  • A collaborative team player who has strong communication and interpersonal skills, while also having the ability to sprint on “individual” projects. 
  • You should be eager to learn and ask questions. Outgoing verbally and willing to voice your opinion 
  • You need to be able to manage multiple projects and tasks at once while meeting assigned deadlines 

Education and Experience 

  • The ideal candidate will have completed at least one prior Internship or Co-op in a marketing or consumer products role 
  • Recent Grads encouraged to apply 
  • Great communication skills 
  • Self-starter, energetic, keen to learn 
  • Flexible in approach
