Job Location: 

This role will be 100% remote.

Clearance:

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Job Description:

In this position as a Federal Accounting Subject Matter Expert, you will provide executive-level guidance and subject matter expertise to accounting and audit teams. You will serve as a knowledge base and advisor to accountants, financial professionals, auditors, and accounting personnel. In this position, you will also:

  • Advise on and resolve complex questions related to Government regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and financial guidelines that may be agency or organization specific.
  • Guide the interpretation and application of financial regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency in accounting and audit operations.
  • Mentor and support teams in improving financial processes, audit readiness, and adherence to federal standards.

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.
  • 3 years of experience with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and Managing for Results (MFR).
  • 3 years of experience applying federal GAAP and related accounting standards.

Desired Skills:

  • Active Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification is desired. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide strategic direction to multidisciplinary financial teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements that enhance financial compliance and audit readiness.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
