Maxar Space is seeking a Structural Assembly Technician to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will provide manufacturing and assembly of our satellites and other spacecraft.
Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand assigned manufacturing tasks.
  • Document work in shop order and verify work performed.
  • Perform necessary daily checkouts of manufacturing equipment.
  • Take part in flight hardware moving operation by assisting test conductors, and other operators.
  • Report supply and equipment deficiencies to manager
  • Keep work spaces neat and organized
  • Keep own training and certifications up to date
  • Occasionally assist other manufacturing teams in the production of spacecraft hardware.

Minimum requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2 years of work experience. A&P program completion may count for an additional one year of experience
  • Ability to use mechanical tools - drills, hand tools, and basic measuring equipment
  • Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and support occasional shift changes to support production goals.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced mechanical skills for drilling, cutting, and shaping metals and composites.
  • FFA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
  • Experience leading small teams of technicians building complex structures or assemblies.
  • Having previous experience operating equipment and/or machinery.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $23.72 - $39.53 hourly.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
