What you will be doing:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for IT is responsible for leading complex sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids as well as establishing contracts and relationships with new suppliers, managing renewals and extensions with existing suppliers, and working with stakeholders to navigate the procure-to-pay process. 

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for IT supports Staples Retail and NAD Technology including purchases of Hardware, Software and IT Services.  The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for specific projects and contract negotiations to achieve annual sourcing savings targets. 

  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to understand and achieve business strategies and objectives.

  • Execute sourcing strategies to provide enhanced value, revenue, total-cost reduction, continuous improvement and achieve savings targets.

  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and contracting process.

  • Lead contract negotiations including new contracts, renewals, and extensions.

  • Manage complex sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage the procure-to-pay process. 

  • Provide stakeholders with best-in-class service through the entire sourcing process.

  • Act as liaison between Staples Legal team, Staples Risk team, Staples Privacy team, and Staples Cyber Security team with suppliers and business partners.

  • Ability to understand procurement protocols and processes.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and sourcing related experience  

  • Proficient in procurement systems – Coupa and/or other procure to pay systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate cost reduction savings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technology role preferred.

  • Masters Degree in related field

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.  In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
