We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives & Transformation Director to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Waltham, MA office.
Job Summary
The Strategic Initiatives & Transformation Director is a high-visibility role focused on leading Imprivata’s most important cross-functional initiatives. This role will operate as a trusted partner to executive leadership, taking on complex, high-priority problems and driving them from initial definition through execution and adoption. This role is not limited to a single function. While many initiatives will support our go-to-market organization, you will flex across Sales, Product, Operations, and other areas based on business needs.
You will be expected to step into ambiguity, create clarity where none exists, and drive alignment across teams you do not directly manage. Success requires both strategic thinking and a strong bias for action—ensuring that ideas turn into measurable outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through execution and adoption.
- Partner with executive and functional leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans.
- Step into ambiguous or under-defined problems and create clarity on goals, scope, and success metrics.
- Drive alignment across Sales, Product, RevOps, Finance, HR, and other teams to move initiatives forward.
- Identify and remove blockers, accelerate decision-making, and maintain momentum across workstreams.
- Establish lightweight structure where needed (milestones, tracking, communication) without over-indexing on process.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure adoption of new processes, tools, or ways of working.
- Track and measure impact, ensuring initiatives deliver tangible business outcomes.
- Build repeatable frameworks and playbooks to scale successful initiatives across the organization.
- Flex across new strategic priorities as business needs evolve, acting as a trusted operator across the company.
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field required; MBA or Masters in IT preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience leading complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives in a high-growth or enterprise environment.
- Proven experience operating in highly ambiguous environments, with a track record of turning strategy into execution.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and drive them to resolution.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional initiatives that delivered measurable business impact.
- Combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution; you’re willing to dive into details to get things done.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for executive audiences.
- Background in strategy, operations, consulting, or high-growth environments strongly preferred.
