About the Role:

Crunchbase's competitive advantage is built on our proprietary, market-leading data. As the Staff Product Manager for Data Platform, you will shape the strategy and roadmap for the platform that powers this foundation, enabling millions of users and AI-powered products to discover, understand, and act on business information.

You will lead product direction for the teams responsible for acquiring, managing, and delivering Crunchbase's core data assets. Working closely with engineering, data science, design, and business stakeholders, you will drive investments that improve the quality, coverage, freshness, and reliability of our existing data while identifying new opportunities to expand and differentiate our proprietary dataset. You will also work closely with other PMs to prioritize data acquisition and data delivery initiatives.

This is a highly strategic role that requires balancing long-term platform investments with customer and business impact. You will make thoughtful product decisions across complex technical systems, influence company-wide priorities, and help define how Crunchbase continues to build the most trusted and differentiated business intelligence platform in the market.

If you are passionate about building platforms, solving challenging data problems at scale, and creating durable competitive advantage through world-class data, we would love to meet you.

What You'll Do:
  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Crunchbase's Data Platform, ensuring it delivers the trusted, proprietary data foundation that powers our products and AI experiences.

  • Drive investments that improve the quality, coverage, freshness, reliability, and scalability of Crunchbase's core data assets while expanding the breadth and depth of our differentiated proprietary dataset.

  • Balance foundational platform improvements with strategic initiatives that strengthen Crunchbase's competitive advantage through unique and market-leading data.

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, CS, Partnerships and Legal teams to align platform capabilities with business priorities and customer needs.

  • Define product requirements and prioritize initiatives across data ingestion, enrichment, entity resolution, data quality, governance, and platform infrastructure.

  • Establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to continuously measure and improve data quality, platform reliability, operational efficiency, and downstream product impact.

  • Collaborate with internal product teams to understand evolving data needs and enable the development of differentiated customer experiences across the Crunchbase platform.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to improve data acquisition, enrichment, validation, and platform operations.

  • Make thoughtful product tradeoffs across technical complexity, business value, and long-term platform health while aligning stakeholders around a shared strategy.

  • Measure the success of platform investments through data quality, coverage, freshness, platform adoption, operational efficiency, customer impact, and business outcome metrics.

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with experience building data, platform, infrastructure, or other highly technical products.

  • A track record of defining product strategy and delivering products in partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and concepts such as data ingestion, data quality, data modeling, governance, APIs, or platform services.

  • Experience balancing technical investments with customer and business needs, making thoughtful product tradeoffs that maximize long-term impact.

  • Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Data Science, AI, Design, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions.

  • Experience defining success metrics and using data to measure product and platform performance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align teams around a shared vision.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and breaking down complex technical problems into clear product strategies and execution plans.

  • A passion for building the foundational platforms and data capabilities that enable exceptional customer experiences.

  • Experience working with AI-powered products, data enrichment, or machine learning applications.

  • Familiarity with graph data, entity resolution, knowledge graphs, or large-scale business datasets.

  • Experience working on B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or data-intensive products.

  • Experience working with platform teams that enable multiple product teams across an organization.
