AI is a company-wide priority at Procore. Our leaders are actively engaged, and teams across the business are eager to experiment. Procore exists to improve the lives of everyone in construction, and that starts with our own people: we want Procore to be a place where people do the best work of their careers. AI is a big part of how we'll get there, by putting better tools in everyone's hands, taking routine work off their plates, and freeing up time for more creative and strategic work.

To lead that change, we're building a new Enterprise AI Center of Excellence within Procore's Enterprise Technology & Business Platforms team. The team will set the direction for how Procore uses AI across the business, run the programs that bring it to life, and help every team get real value from it. It's a rare chance to build something from the ground up at a company that's serious about AI.

We're looking for a Staff FinOps Analyst, Enterprise AI to join the Enterprise AI Center of Excellence. You'll make Procore's AI spend visible, predictable, and tied to value. AI spend is consumption-based and grows with adoption, so it needs active management. You'll own how we track it, forecast it, allocate it, and turn it into insights leaders can act on, starting with Claude and expanding to other AI spend across the company.

You'll focus on strategy and insights rather than building pipelines. You'll partner with Technology Operations and Data Engineering, which own the data models and delivers the dashboards, so you can focus on what the numbers mean and what to do about them. You'll also work closely with the Principal Product Manager, Enterprise AI, who owns portfolio decisions, and with Finance, Procurement, Enterprise IT, and business leaders.

We'd love for this role to be based in our Austin, Texas office, and we're also open to great candidates anywhere in the U.S. It reports to the Senior Director, Technology Transformation & Enterprise AI.

What you'll do
  • Own the full picture of AI spend. Build and maintain one source of truth for everything Procore spends on AI: seat licenses, model and API usage, cloud AI services like AWS Bedrock and Google Vertex AI, usage-based AI inside platforms like Snowflake and Databricks, AI add-ons and credits in SaaS contracts, and the agents we build and run, whether internally or through vendors that charge per agent or per action.
  • Build the AI FinOps framework. Define how Procore manages AI spend: the metrics, the definitions, the guardrails, and the monthly operating rhythm.
  • Turn spend into insight. Find what's driving spend, where it's growing, what's delivering value, and where it's wasted, and brief leaders and Finance on what it means.
  • Forecast and plan. Build spend forecasts by business unit and scenario models for planning cycles, new rollouts, and pricing changes.
  • Build business cases. Build cost models and TCO for new AI tools and major rollouts, as an input to the Principal Product Manager's portfolio decisions.
  • Monitor spend and explain variance. Watch for spend anomalies, set alert thresholds that Enterprise IT implements, and explain variance to budget each month.
  • Build allocation and chargeback reporting. Each month, map AI spend to business units and cost centers, and give FP&A and Accounting the usage data they need to reconcile vendor invoices, run chargeback, and book it.
  • Recommend optimizations. Recommend changes to access tiers, spend caps, model mix, idle seats, and overlapping tools that cut waste without slowing teams down.
  • Measure unit economics and value. Track cost per active user, per use case, per agent run, and per outcome, and partner with the Principal Product Manager, who defines how value is measured for each use case, to measure time to value and productivity gained.
  • Inform vendor and renewal strategy. Analyze actual usage against commitments, compare pricing models, and bring the numbers to renewals and negotiations.
  • Own the reporting requirements. Define what AI spend dashboards show, for whom, and how often, and partner with Technology Operations to deliver them.
What this role doesn't own

This role doesn't make budget decisions, set or run chargeback (FP&A), book entries (Accounting), configure caps and limits in the platform (Enterprise IT), build data pipelines (Data Engineering), or lead vendor negotiations (Procurement and the business owner). Costs of AI features in Procore's customer-facing products are also out of scope. This role has visibility into AI spend so the company-wide view is complete, but Agentic Foundation owns P&T's AI spend reporting and optimization decisions.

What we're looking for
  • 6+ years in FinOps, IT finance, cloud cost management, or FP&A for technology spend
  • Experience managing consumption-based spend, such as cloud, data platforms, or AI
  • Strong SQL and Tableau or similar BI skills: comfortable pulling, checking, and exploring data yourself, even though Technology Operations owns the pipelines and dashboards
  • Experience building forecasts, scenario models, and cost allocation or chargeback processes
  • Clear communication with executives and Finance, and the ability to turn complex numbers into simple recommendations
  • Experience partnering across finance, engineering, data, procurement, and business teams
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where none currently exists
  • Bonus: FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps for AI certification, familiarity with AI token pricing and usage models, or experience with cost tools for Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS
Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

129,600.00 - 178,200.00 USD Annual

This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.

For Los Angeles County (unincorporated) Candidates:

Procore will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records, in accordance with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act.

A criminal history may have a direct, adverse, and negative relationship on the following job duties, potentially resulting in the withdrawal of the conditional offer of employment: 1. appropriately managing, accessing, and handling confidential information including proprietary and trade secret information, as well as accessing Procore's information technology systems and platforms; 2. interacting with and occasionally having unsupervised contact with internal/external customers, stakeholders, and/or colleagues; and 3. exercising sound judgment.
