When thousands of hotels, resorts, and casinos around the world open their revenue tools, they expect them to just work. As our Staff DevOps Engineer, you'll be the person who makes that happen: designing the AWS infrastructure behind our platform, shaping architecture decisions alongside engineers, and building the automation and tools that help the whole team move faster.

What Makes Us Different?
Duetto is the hospitality industry's leading revenue management platform, founded in 2012 by former Wynn Resorts executives who knew the industry needed better technology. We built the world's first Revenue & Profit Operating System — a suite of tools (GameChanger, ScoreBoard, BlockBuster, Advance and more) that goes beyond room pricing to give hotels, resorts and casinos a complete picture of their revenue and profitability. Trusted by clients ranging from independent boutique hotels to global chains, we've been named the #1 Revenue Management Software by HotelTechAwards four years running and the #1 Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech in 2025. Backed by GrowthCurve Capital since 2024, we're accelerating our investment in AI, and we're genuinely passionate about the industry we serve. We build products we're proud of, for customers we care about.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and build scalable, secure, highly available AWS infrastructure for our critical systems, with automation at the center and uptime and reliability as the goal.
  • Partner with developers on architecture decisions to improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of our servers and applications.
  • Keep us secure by default: tackle vulnerabilities early and raise our cybersecurity readiness.
  • Be the last line of support for services our customers depend on 24/7. You'll troubleshoot on-call incidents, join a weekly on-call rotation, and lead Root Cause Analysis so the same problem doesn't come back.
  • Build the tools and automation other engineers use every day, and mentor DevOps engineers and teams across the company.
  • Help us bring AI into our DevOps and SRE workflows. We're redesigning how every role works with AI, and this one is no exception.

What We're Looking For
You may be a good fit if you have the following:

  • 7+ years in an Ops, DevOps, or SRE role, with real system design and architecture experience
  • Hands-on AWS experience (IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail), including multi-account management, permissions structures, and SSO. Azure or GCP experience is welcome too.
  • Engineer-level knowledge of networking and security, plus a solid grasp of load balancing fundamentals
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, working as part of a multi-user infrastructure team
  • Experience with CI/CD and build/deploy automation tooling (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, GitOps)
  • Experience running enterprise monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog
  • A track record of resolving complex on-call incidents and leading RCAs that lead to lasting fixes
  • Comfort reading Java, Ruby, Bash/Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript
  • A service reliability mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong candidates may also have:

  • Layer 7 load balancing experience
  • Container orchestration experience (ECS/EKS)
  • Chef or Puppet configuration management experience
  • SOC2 compliance experience
  • Curiosity about our stack: Java, Python, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres, React, Terraform/Terragrunt, Chef, DataDog, and Prometheus

Why Duetto?

  • Hospitality is in our DNA. Your work directly helps hoteliers grow revenue and profit, and you'll see the impact on real customers around the world.
  • We play to win. Duetto speed is real. We act with urgency when we spot an opportunity or a challenge, and you'll have room to help set direction and architecture.
  • AI is how we work. We're actively redesigning how every role operates with AI, and you'll be equipped and encouraged to use cutting-edge tools in your day-to-day, in DevOps and SRE workflows included.
  • We build partnerships. We succeed as one team, across technical and non-technical functions, and we honour our commitments to each other and our customers.
  • Come as you are. We value diverse perspectives, welcome healthy debate, and keep the atmosphere casual, flexible, collaborative, and fun. We take our fun seriously.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
