About Us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Staff Content & Conversational Designer, AI to define how language, interaction, and trust shape the future of mental health technology. This is a staff-level role for a content designer ready to establish frameworks, mentor peers, and ensure AI-powered experiences are clear, inclusive, and clinically trustworthy.

You’ll design at the intersection of UX writing, AI conversation design, and product strategy — helping us responsibly harness generative AI to improve access to care, reduce friction, and enhance engagement for millions of patients and providers.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive content and conversation design strategy for AI-enabled experiences, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and safety
  • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and Clinical teams to design natural, human-centered AI interactions that balance empathy, trust, and efficiency
  • Lead prompt design, testing, and iteration to guide model behavior and ensure responsible, high-quality AI outputs alongside clinical experts
  • Write and refine content across key touchpoints, including conversational flows, onboarding, and care navigation
  • Shape and evolve content systems, style guidelines, and reusable frameworks to scale consistent experiences across the platform
  • Audit existing content for inclusivity, clarity, and tone, ensuring outputs align with Grow Therapy’s mission and voice
  • Mentor other designers, champion inclusive practices, and influence design culture across the organization
  • Align content design strategy with both business goals and clinical outcomes, showing measurable impact on engagement and trust
What We’re Looking For
  • 8–10+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or conversation design, with a portfolio demonstrating impact across both content systems and AI/conversation design
  • Proven expertise in UX writing, content strategy, and systems thinking, ideally with experience in AI or healthtech products
  • Experience designing conversational interfaces or AI-powered experiences (chatbots, LLM-based products, or virtual assistants)
  • Superior communication and storytelling skills, with sensitivity to tone, inclusivity, and the mental health context
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, model training, or AI-generated content quality standards
  • Track record of collaborating cross-functionally and leading high-impact initiatives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • In-house product experience required; healthtech or consumer-facing product experience preferred
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Portfolio required, showcasing both strategic content work and conversational/AI design samples
  • Excellent collaboration and mentorship skills
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000.
