About the Role

At G2 Capital Advisors, we’re redefining financial operations with precision, agility, and a people-first mindset. Our finance team is growing, and we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to help us scale our impact. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, for G2 corporate entities and certain subsidiaries, various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. 

Location: Boston, MA office location  

Workplace Model: At the time of this posting, G2 currently operates in a hybrid model with 3-4 days required in the office. These in-office requirements may be adjusted based on the needs of the business.  

What You’ll Do

• As our new Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations, including: 
• Drafting and distributing client invoices (hourly, monthly, ad hoc) 
• Managing accounts payable and receivables 
• Setting up and tracking projects in Harvest, SharePoint, Core Commissions and QuickBooks 
• Drafting cash disbursements and performing daily bank reconciliations 
• Reviewing and categorizing QuickBooks bank and credit card feeds 
• Drafting, preparing, and updating payroll files 
• Reviewing and approving travel and other expenses 
• Assisting with compliance audits  
• Contributing to performance tracking and project financials 
• Supporting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other month-end close activities 
• Maintaining documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls 
• Cross-training with senior team members to ensure continuity and coverage 
• Staying current on accounting standards and participating in ongoing training 
• The responsibilities of this role will evolve with business needs, giving you the opportunity to grow and develop along with us 

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a fast-paced financial services or other professional services environment) 
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Salesforce, and tools like Harvest 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams 
• A highly organized approach to work, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
• A natural curiosity to understand how and why things work; with a drive to dig deeper and uncover the best solutions  
• A strong sense of accountability and meticulous attention to detail, demonstrated by owning mistakes and seeking help when needed 
• An enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated attitude; consistently approaching challenges with determination and optimism to achieve exceptional results 
• A commitment to fostering collaboration by sharing knowledge, resources, ideas, and constructive feedback to build stronger teams 
• A track record of acting with integrity, consistently choosing to do what’s right-even when it’s difficult or unnoticed  

Bonus Points For

• Experience with commissions or other ancillary software tools  
• Familiarity with payroll processing  
• Interest in process improvement and automation 
• Familiarity with investment banking, consulting, or other professional services fields
