The Sr Staff PPI Business System Specialist role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking a challenging and rewarding career. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by driving the culture of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System within our Instrument & Enterprise Services (IES) division, specifically focused on Instrument Services business.
A Day in the Life:
- Foster a culture of ongoing improvement in customer service, financial performance, employee development, and quality standards at IES.
- Oversee and track Productivity Initiatives Pipelines to ensure timely reporting of achieved goals compared to targets for important individuals involved.
- Support and drive improvement initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, Projects) to achieve positive results in Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Profit & Loss (P&L).
- Monitor progress of improvement efforts and develop plans to address shortcomings.
- Measure and report on key performance indicators (leading and lagging) at the site level; develop and implement effective corrective action plans.
- Develop and enhance the Lean Management System, which includes implementing tiered daily management systems, leadership in key performance indicators, Gemba walks, and other PPI/LEAN tools.
- Conduct PPI/LEAN training for leadership and employees.
- Communicate success stories and manage knowledge of Continuous Improvement charter.
- Provide coaching to develop PPI/Lean expertise.
- Identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI business system.
- Challenge organizational leaders to create an action-based culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Keys to Success:
Education, Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years of experience managing a continuous improvement program across multisite Business Unit or Division. Non-manufacturing environment preferred.
- People management experience in a highly matrix environment preferred.
- Black belt six sigma required.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams and implement sustainable improvements.
- Preferred candidates should have at least 4 years of experience in operational excellence, using lean tools and influencing various teams within the organization.
- A strong focus on commercial business strategies and financial understanding is required.
- Strong communication and persuasive skills with a leadership style focused on achieving goals.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project Management Certification preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time nationally/internationally.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $118,100.00–$177,200.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
