Insurance touches people during some of the most challenging moments in their lives. Hi Marley is on a mission to transform how the P&C industry communicates, making those moments faster, easier, and more empathetic for carriers and the customers they serve. We build AI-powered software that keeps everyone in the claims conversation informed and connected. If you believe insurance can combine operational excellence and automation with a human touch, we’d love to meet you.
We're looking for a Sr. Software Engineer II — Mobile Platform to lead the technical direction of our React Native app — used by adjusters and policyholders on iOS and Android in the regulated, device-managed environments our enterprise carriers require (Microsoft Intune/MAM, Okta, MSAL).
This is an established codebase, not a greenfield build. Your job is to raise its bar: security posture, dependencies, CI/CD, and documentation. You'll work with significant autonomy, mentor other engineers who touch the app, and be the person the company trusts to keep it secure, current, and shippable.
Teamwork and shared enthusiasm are a core part of our culture, which is why this role involves joining us in the Boston office for 2-3 days each week.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead on the mobile app. Serve as a senior engineer and technical leader for our codebase across iOS and Android — contributing across feature development, architecture, dependencies, release, and production support.
- Keep authentication and compliance strong and consistent. Maintain and extend our authentication flows (Okta, MSAL broker) and device-compliance integrations (Microsoft Intune MDM/MAM). Respond to infosec and app-store compliance findings. Ensure PII and sensitive data are handled responsibly in logs and at rest.
- Build secure, reliable session handling. Apply and extend patterns for on-device storage, token refresh, re-authentication, session expiry, and sign-out — consistently across iOS, Android, and under Intune policy.
- Modernize and maintain the stack. Keep React Native, native modules, and third-party libraries current and secure. Drive SDK and OS-version upgrades, reduce technical debt, and strengthen linting, type checks, and automated tests.
- Advance our delivery pipeline. Improve CI/CD automation, quality and security gates, and signed release flows. Manage code signing, credentials, and versioning with the rigor a regulated enterprise product demands.
- Write documentation that lasts. Keep architecture docs, authentication and Intune runbooks, local dev setup, and release processes current — so onboarding, incident response, and carrier integrations stay fast.
- Partner cross-functionally. Translate compliance and business requirements into reliable mobile experiences alongside Security, DevOps, and Product. Provide thoughtful code review and guidance to other engineers.
- Support the app in production. Lead release health monitoring, crash/error triage, and app-store review responses. Serve as an escalation point for mobile issues.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (or 4+ with a Master's, or equivalent), with a strong track record shipping production mobile applications.
- Deep React Native / Expo experience, with comfort going native — Xcode/CocoaPods, iOS build and signing, Android/Gradle, and writing or debugging native modules. We have custom native bridges; you should be comfortable navigating them. Depth on one platform with genuine curiosity about the other is welcome.
- Proven mobile CI/CD and release engineering experience — automating builds and store delivery to TestFlight and Google Play (EAS Build/Submit, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or similar), managing certificates and provisioning profiles, and running OTA update channels.
- A strong security mindset, with hands-on experience in mobile authentication (OAuth/OIDC, Okta, MSAL/Microsoft identity) and ideally mobile device/app management (Intune MDM/MAM) and secure PII handling in regulated environments.
- Current with the mobile ecosystem. You track platform changes, security developments, and tooling — and bring that knowledge to the codebase proactively.
- Strong judgment and autonomy. You're comfortable with a wide scope, recognize connections across the codebase and toolchain, and drive improvements rather than waiting for direction.
- A bias toward durability and clarity. You leave the codebase, pipeline, and docs better than you found them, and write things down so the whole team can build on your work.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach. You communicate openly, amplify the people around you, and take shared accountability for team outcomes.
- At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
