Hands-on upstream process development role performing mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operation, transfection/transduction, cell bioprinting, documentation, SOP and batch record writing, and general lab maintenance. Flexible schedule with occasional weekend work required.
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Research Associate to support upstream cell culture in a lab-based contract role. This is a temporary position (~6 months) focused on execution of process development and experimental work to support client programs.
Scope of Responsibilities
- All aspects of mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
- Culturing and purifying different cell types including primary and stem cells.
- Maintaining small-scale bioreactors from 0.5mL to 10L scale.
- Cell transfection, transduction, and other genetic manipulation techniques.
- Cell bioprinting towards generating tissue replacements
- Performance of general laboratory tasks, including maintenance of equipment
- Maintain accurate and reliable records including database management, batch records, lab notebooks, and all other pertinent documentation.
- Writing and/or contributing to SOPs, batch records, protocols and reports.
- This is a hands-on lab-based position requiring a flexible schedule based on experimental work (some weekend work may be required).
Qualifications
- Sr. Associate - Bachelor’s degree in biology, bioengineering, biotechnology, or related discipline with minimum 2 years relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of tissue culture and aseptic technique.
- Strong team worker who is also independently motivated, detail oriented and possesses good problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written skills; able to handle confidential information and material appropriately.
- Background in bioreactors and/or cell-based methods preferred.
