The Role 

Proofpoint is looking for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to lead product marketing for our Insider Threat Management solution, a strategically important and highly differentiated part of our Data Security portfolio. 

This is a senior individual contributor role for an experienced cybersecurity product marketer who wants to own a critical market narrative, shape go-to-market strategy, influence product and help accelerate growth in a timely, high-priority area of Proofpoint’s broader Data Security strategy. 

Your Day to Day 

  • Own the strategic messaging, positioning, and market narrative for Proofpoint’s Insider Threat Management solution, ensuring it is differentiated, compelling, and aligned with the broader Data Security story.
  • Become the expert on buyers, market dynamics, customer needs, buying criteria, and competitive alternatives to shape GTM strategy and field execution
  • Build high-impact content and GTM assets across the buyer journey, including pitch decks, solution briefs, web copy, sales plays, customer stories, and more
  • Lead go-to-market planning and launch execution, aligning cross-functional teams on target audiences, messaging, launch activities, and success measures
  • Drive field readiness by equipping sellers and SEs with practical positioning, objection handling, sales plays, and customer proof that connect key use cases and outcomes to buyer value. 

What You Bring to the Team 

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience, including significant experience in cybersecurity. 
  • Have strong cybersecurity experience, sharp storytelling instincts, and the ability to operate with ownership, urgency, and creativity.
  • Proven experience marketing complex technical solutions to CISOs, enterprise security leaders, technical buyers, and go-to-market teams.
  • Strong ability to create differentiated messaging, positioning, content, and narratives that translate technical capabilities into clear buyer and business value
  • Demonstrated ownership of product launches, major capability releases, or go-to-market initiatives
  • Experience enabling sales and SE teams with practical, compelling, field-ready materials
  • A proactive, collaborative working style with strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and accountability for outcomes
  • Experience in insider threat management, UEBA, data security/DLP, or identity security is strongly preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.

Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 166,500.00 - 244,200.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 136,200.00 - 199,760.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 124,100.00 - 182,050.00 USD
