About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Manager with experience in the fire detection industry to join our team. This role will focus on managing the lifecycle of fire detection products, working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customers to drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap (incl. Market & Competitive Analysis):

  • Assume Product Management responsibilities for a specific fire detection product segment.

  • Initial focus on the North America market, but expansion into global product responsibility is likely after becoming familiar with the product range (depending on the product segment).

  • Manage entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to launch activities through the product’s end-of-life (EOL) phase.

  • Define and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Identify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market and competitive analysis reports.

  • Benchmark products against competitors to ensure differentiation and value.

  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap based on market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.

  • Prioritize product development initiatives based on ROI, feasibility, and customer impact.

Product Development & Innovation:

  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and design teams to develop and enhance fire detection products.

  • Lead product development projects from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.

  • Evaluate new technologies and industry advancements to drive product innovation.

  • Ensure all related documentation for the development process is accurate and complete to be reported internally at regular project reviews.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the voice of the customer (VOC), gathering insights from end-users, distributors, and sales teams.

  • Work closely with sales and marketing to define product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Provide technical product support and training to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success.

  • Monitor product performance in the market and drive continuous improvements.

  • Recommend product life cycle actions, including enhancements, end-of-life planning and cost optimization.

  • Maintain ERP systems with all information relating to product price and lifecycle data.

  • Generate various reports and product sales / customer analysis by channel as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field with 3 years of professional experience. MBA is a plus.

  • Experience: 2-5 years of product management experience, preferably in fire detection, life safety, or related industries.

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fire detection systems, sensors, alarm panels, and industry standards.

  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional teams.

  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Passion & Focus on Time: Strong dedication to work with the ability to drive projects efficiently and diligently while maintaining sensitivity to stakeholders’ needs.

  • Learning Skills: Fast learner with the ability to onboard new product groups, collect Voice of the Customer (VOC) insights, and translate findings into product features.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Experience delivering software, SaaS, Cloud, or mobile services, preferably in IoT applications and solutions a plus.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, Agile methodologies, data analytics tools is a plus.

  • Advanced Technologies: Understanding of LLMs (Large Language Models) and AI technology and methodology is a plus.
