The Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllership team has an opening for a Technical Accounting Professional supporting the LADS Strategic Business Unit. The role includes assessment activities supporting revenue and bookings reported by the business.
Responsibilities include review of new contracts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for revenue recognition timing and method, review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages, and application of finance policies and procedures to business activities. Additional responsibilities include support of special projects, offset accounting assessments, audit activities, and training activities.
What You Will Do:
- Technical Accounting point of contact for the Raytheon LADS Strategic Business Unit
- Assessment of new awards for revenue recognition, timing of booking, and identification of performance obligations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
- Review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages for long-term contracts
- Application of U.S. GAAP and company policies to finance activities
- Documentation of accounting judgments and assessments in formal whitepapers
- Documentation of Offset Project Accounting memoranda
- Participation in technical accounting projects including policy harmonization, data analysis, system testing, and process improvement activities
- Support of external and internal audit activities, including ad-hoc requests, quarterly reviews, and annual audit procedures
- Support of internal controls activities and execution of assigned controls in coordination with the SBU Assistant Controller
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically, Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field and 10 years’ of experience in finance/accounting; or an advance degree and 7 years’ in finance/accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
- Experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environments
- U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with IT systems including data warehouses and ERP software
- Experience with financial reporting software
- Interaction with stakeholders in team and matrix organization environments
- Preparation of written documentation and communication of accounting information in verbal and written formats
- Application of financial accounting concepts in accounting or finance activities
- Execution of assigned work activities in a matrix organization environment
- Experience reviewing contracts or agreements for accounting treatment
- Experience researching transactions under U.S. GAAP or company policies
- Experience preparing or reviewing Estimates at Completion (EACs)

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
