We are seeking a Senior Manager – Project Manager, CMC, who will have responsibility for supporting the tech ops leadership team in managing cross-functional CMC teams engaged in the development and commercialization of the company’s assets. Operating within a virtual (100% outsourced) business model, the incumbent will be accountable for team deliverables, ensuring operational excellence with respect to timelines, budgets, and attainment of technical, regulatory, and business goals/milestones. This person will also be leveraged as a thought partner for the CMC Lead that works with departments to ensure all key stakeholders are aligned with the overall CMC strategy to support the programs.
The ideal candidate will effectively balance the need for organization and adherence to timelines with the adaptability required in a fast-paced, growing company. They will have a demonstrated record of ensuring successful project outcomes by building strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring clear communication, and efficiently managing team resources to achieve a common goal.
This position will report to the Director, CMC Project Management and will be in Waltham, MA with a remote option.
The Role:
- Develop and maintain fully integrated CMC project plans, incorporating activities, internal/external resource requirements and key interdependencies, that deliver tangible results against program and corporate goals.
- Establish and implement operational mechanisms to facilitate effective and timely cross-functional communication and decision making, and successful execution of program plans.
- Contribute to and support development and implementation of PM methodologies and best practices to ensure consistency and operational effectiveness within and across functions and programs
- Identify, define, prioritize, and communicate risks to successful program execution; develop and monitor risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Manage and coordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time
- Organize and plan project tasks and schedules utilizing Smartsheet, or any other tools available
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants
- Stay aware of CMC goals and strategies to ensure projects align with business priorities
- Facilitate and encourage collaboration across departments to ensure projects are completed successfully
- Manage and facilitate the CMC meetings and activities including meeting minutes, agenda, track action items and setting up critical meetings as needed.
- Create presentations, dashboards, and reports to communicate project status, key internal metrics, or risk mitigations
- Keep the project team focused on the end goal
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemistry, Biology, or related fields with 5+ years of R&D or drug development project management experience.
- Proven success in working in a cross-functional team environment with direct experience in manufacturing, operations and/or CDMO management.
- Strong scientific background and knowledge of the Drug Development Process.
- Ability to foster open communication, mutual understanding, and cooperation.
- Must be proficient with Smartsheet.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Project, Power Point, OneNote, and Excel.
- Experience with OnePager preferred.
- Experience in managing multiple programs at one time and can work well with different management styles to keep project moving.
- Competency in developing, implementing, and delivering CMC project plans (milestones, timelines, resources, etc.) to successful endpoints.
- Self-directed, accomplishment-driven individual with a strong sense of passion and urgency who can work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience in small molecules, and biologics drug discovery is preferred.
- Project Management certification is a plus.
