What You Will Do
- Develops and manages the strategy and execution of Lowe's leaves of absence and accommodation programs.
- Leads a team of Assistant Managers and Consultants who serve as subject matter experts and are responsible for the day-to-day administration of centralized processes.
- Ensures compliance of all federal, state, local leave regulations including but not limited to Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave (MA PFMLA), USERRA, ADA/ADAAA, as well as various state leave laws. Also ensures compliance of all other company leaves including, but not limited to personal leaves.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in FMLA, ADA, Worker's Compensation, other pertinent laws and regulations for escalations related to the most complex of leave and accommodation cases.
- Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to ensure consistency and effectiveness of the program across all regions.
- Analyzes data to assess program performance and trends to make recommendations for program enhancements.
- Develops program roadmap recommendations, identify gaps, and develop mitigation plans. Ensures program visibility to team, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Partners with stakeholders and vendors to maintain an industry competitive leave and accommodations program.
- Manages vendor relationships to ensure performance in line with Lowe's expectations, including conducting reviews and audits of vendor work. Works independently and collaboratively, while providing decisions, direction, and insights.
- Develops a trusted advisor relationship with internal stakeholders through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects.
- Works closely and effectively with internal partners in Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other teams pertinent to optimal service delivery.
- Partners with Learning to develop necessary compliance training for Human Resources, People Leaders and Associates.
- Stays apprised of trends by benchmarking with other organizations and maintaining strong connections with human resource professional organizations (e.g., DMAC, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Business Administration, HR, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 10 years experience
in leaves of absence and accommodations in lieu of degree - 8 Years Experience in leaves of absence and accommodations
- 5 Years Experience successfully managing multiple priorities & projects through successful delivery & implementation under time, budget, and political pressure
- 5 Years Experience directly or indirectly leading and mentoring a team
- 5 Years Experience managing third party vendors
- Experience with ADA, FMLA, local and state leave laws, STD, LTD, Workers' Compensation and leave of absence processing, policy design and administration.2 years Experience in managing a centralized HR program or in a shared services environment
- 5 Years Experience working in a high volume, multi-state environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing complex leave of absence and accommodations programs supporting a large, geographically dispersed employee population of 75,000+ employees.
