The Sr. Events Manager will take ownership of Monotype's sponsored and owned events, driving success in both virtual and in-person environments. This role reports to the Head of Events & Nurture and collaborates closely with a global marketing team. As a leader in the events function, the Senior Events Manager will shape event strategies that generate brand awareness, foster demand, and align with key business objectives.  

What You’ll Be Doing:  

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, including external and internal events.   

  • Manage a portfolio of global events with varying levels of complexity, including sales conferences, trade shows, webinars, and executive roundtables. 

  • Handle all aspects of event execution, including project management, budget ownership, speaker management, contract negotiations, exhibit planning, venue coordination, and real-time operations both on-site and on virtual platforms. 

  • Develop event strategies in close partnership with Growth Marketing, Sales, and Nurture teams to generate qualified leads, nurture prospects, and support brand awareness. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, brand, product marketing, PR and others to ensure seamless event integration into larger marketing campaigns and initiatives. 

  • Serve as a trusted partner to marketing leadership and align event objectives with company-wide goals. 

  • Manage third party vendor relationships, including event agencies, freelancers, venues, and AV providers.  

  • Continuously assess event processes and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and optimization. 

  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to stay at the forefront of event management trends.  

What we're looking for:  

  • 7+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably in B2B, with demonstrated success managing a diverse portfolio of events across global markets. 

  • Experience leading large-scale, complex events, such as conferences or multi-regional activations. 

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail. 

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and present strategies to leadership as needed. 

  • A leadership mindset with interest in mentoring junior team members. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and pivot quickly when priorities shift. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally for in-person events. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Experience with Salesforce.com and project management tools.
