Job Summary:

The Sr. Director of Planning and Allocation is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in Planning and Allocation with the goal of meeting/exceeding sales, margin, inventory turn and most importantly deliver high member in-stock. Providing support and partnership to the Merchant team to execute the merchandising strategies and achieve the financial goals. Promoting a collaborative team culture between P&A, Merchants, and Operations.  Driving high team member engagement in service of our members.  Leading the strategic roadmap for people, processes and technology.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads long-range planning process with Key suppliers and gives insight to DC’s and Clubs on inventory flow variations.
  • Leads the bottoms-up demand planning process and reconciles top-down merchandise financial planning targets for sales, gross margin and inventory.
  • Executes the replenishment process to ensure sales, margin and inventory targets meet corporate goals and expectations and resolves differences as appropriate
  • Oversees by-Club demand planning and inventory management for the core assortment and seasonal allocation strategies and item life cycle management.
  • Supports Merchant team during product planning processes (hind-sighting, merchandise strategy, assortment & buy planning) with analytics and reconciliations to merchandise plans and inventory strategies
  • Develops a high-quality team through leading, coaching and providing constructive feedback with a focus on acquiring, developing, and retaining talent
  • Leads transformation of new systems and tools that enable continued improvements in efficacy and efficiency of the assortment planning and allocation process

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 10 - 15 years of progressive and demonstratable in Retail Management
  • Drive and resilience to effectively manage a large scope of responsibility to achieve financial targets based on a sound knowledge of merchandising concepts
  • Thinks conceptually and strategically
  • Builds and maintains productive cross-functional relationships
  • Crafts targeted and effective executive level verbal and written communications
  • Fosters a strong team environment and works effectively with all levels of management
  • Adapts to shifting circumstances in a business environment
  • Exhibits a continuous learning mindset to grow new capabilities
  • Provides direction, counseling and coaching to team
  • Develops creative solutions to business problem solving and takes intelligent risks
  • Works effectively with cross-functional leaders to achieve sound financial and merchandising solutions based on data, analysis, and experience

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $179,000.00.
