About RainFocus

RainFocus cares about its employees, customers, and the world in which we live. Our rapidly growing team serves Fortune 500 companies like Adobe, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, VMware, and others to prepare and execute in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, across the world. Those events are delivered through our industry-disrupting software platform, with groundbreaking business intelligence, to elevate the attendee experience, streamline event operations, and accelerate marketing results. We are well-funded, growing fast, and building a company that is changing the market — it will be challenging, fun and exciting.

About the Role

Our demand generation team at RainFocus plans, executes, and optimizes omnichannel campaigns that build brand awareness, nurture interest, and drive pipeline. We collaborate with all other marketing functions to execute multi-channel tactics and own the email channel end to end. As a Senior Demand Generation Specialist, you will own the execution of email programs, turn approved campaign briefs into real production plans, and maintain data scorecards to help our team make informed decisions. This role also owns sponsorship operations for our annual user conference, INSIGHT.

Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, you will influence campaign strategy, email schedules, and team priorities. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who wants to own execution.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand RainFocus’ competitive landscape and customer needs, as well as event industry trends

  • Own the build, testing, and optimization of email programs, including campaign emails, newsletters, nurture emails, and event promotion

  • Draft email copy as needed, and coordinate copy and creative requests with other marketing functions

  • Champion brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials, ensuring messaging and visuals reflect the company's values and market positioning

  • Own the execution plan, timeline, and dependency management of approved campaigns

  • Support 1:1 and 1:many campaigns targeting named enterprise accounts, including target list development, email build, and account team coordination

  • Pull and validate outbound email, nurture, and other channel metrics monthly

  • Contribute account, industry, and persona-based campaign ideas and channel recommendations grounded in performance data

  • Own the development of internal resources that help drive alignment across departments, including process documentation

  • Run the sponsor experience for our annual INSIGHT conference, including pre- and post-event comms, deadline management, and branding

  • Own all sponsorship logistics: contracting, deliverable fulfillment, and payment coordination in partnership with the finance team

  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovative marketing tactics and new strategies that drive growth

  • Utilize AI tools to build, simplify, and monitor automated workflows that eliminate overly manual processes and increase efficiency

  • Own your own priorities within agreed upon timelines

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in B2B marketing (experience in account-based marketing or demand generation is a plus)

  • Strong understanding of marketing automation tools and CRM platforms (hands-on experience in Marketo, Demandbase, and Salesforce is a plus)

  • Deep marketing automation fluency — building, segmenting, testing, and deploying email programs at volume without supervision

  • Ability to analyze campaign metrics to drive improvements in marketing tactics

  • Strong organizational skills, including driving multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail

  • Data-driven, with a commitment to experimenting for measurable results

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Curiosity about AI and automation to reduce manual workloads

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
