Role Overview
The Senior Content Marketing Manager is a strategic storyteller and content leader responsible for shaping and executing Self’s editorial strategy. This role transforms complex financial topics into engaging, consumer-friendly content that fuels discoverability, builds trust, and drives measurable growth.

You’ll manage writers, agencies, and vendors; collaborate with cross-functional teams; and ensure that Self’s brand voice is consistent, authoritative, and impactful across every organic touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Leadership: Own and execute the editorial strategy aligned to business goals, organic growth, and Self’s mission.
  • Editorial Development: Produce high-impact content (blogs, guides, landing pages, campaigns, multimedia scripts).
  • Create and implement a unified content strategy that addresses SEO, AEO and GEO simultaneously.
  • Collaboration: Work with teams across the organization (including product marketing, compliance and creative teams) and vendors to scale production and ensure content supports acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of queries, platforms, competitors, and user intent to uncover opportunities and inform content strategy. 
  • Performance & Optimization: Track performance metrics, analyze results, and refine strategy to maximize ROI.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay current on industry trends, AI/LLM-driven search shifts, and evolving audience behaviors.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in content marketing or editorial leadership, preferably in fintech, financial services, consumer tech or a heavily-regulated industry.
  • Proven track record of building editorial programs that deliver measurable business results.
  • Strong storytelling and editorial skills, with ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
  • Understanding of SEO, digital PR, and emerging AI/LLM search dynamics.
  • Experience producing and managing multimedia content (video, podcasts, social-first).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience managing agencies/freelancers.
  • Strong awareness of content management, publishing, collaboration, and compliance tools to manage content strategy effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in journalism, financial writing, or consumer-tech editorial is helpful, but not required.

Base salary is $88,000-131,000 annually.  Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
